Identify the stage of moral development shown in the following:

1- Punishment/Obedience (One is motivated by fear of punishment. He will act in order to avoid

Answer: For me I would tell it belongs to Post-conventional since it is based on enduring or


consistent principles. Law and Order. One is motivated to act in order to uphold law and order.
The person will follow the law because it is the law. If Nic will tell his parents what happened
even if it is difficult to Ryan’s side then he is just obedient to his parents because it is their law.
He might assume what will be the punishment of his parents will lately found it. But if Nic will
just stick with his brother’s promise in keeping each other’s secret then he is disobeying his
parent’s rules whether it would take him to some consequences.
