Structural Dynamics

This document contains 5 questions regarding structural dynamics and vibration analysis of engineering structures. Question 1 covers D'Alembert's principle, single degree of freedom systems, and Hamilton's principle. It also asks about the importance of dynamic analysis in civil engineering. Question 2 involves deriving equations of motion for damped single degree of freedom systems. Question 3 covers harmonic forcing and damping. Question 4 asks about axial vibration of bars. Question 5 involves using Stodola's method to obtain natural frequencies and modes of vibration for a multi-story building. The guidelines emphasize solving all questions, writing original answers of sufficient length for descriptive questions, and submitting answers in the standard format within the deadline.

Guideline –

 Ensure to solve every question in series.

 Do not copy past answers, as it will lead to rejection of answer sheets.

 Make sure to write enough length answers of descriptive questions as per the weightage.

 Highlight more relevant case studies and practice examples.

 Submit answer sheet in standard format only.

 Make sure to be in time limits of submission to avoid rejection of submission after deadline.

 In case of hand written sheet submission please be assure of sober writing and cleanliness of answer
sheet.

 Do take care of numerical and diagrammatical representation up to the mark if applicable .
