1. Scope

 The following method statement summarizes the guidelines for installation of wirings,
cables, instruments, conduits, tubing, and groundings.

2. Reference

3. Responsibilities

Construction Manager – is responsible for overall management of the job with


Quality and safety as per approved drawing and method statement.
Quality Manager – is responsible to ensure any discrepancies or contradictions are resolved
prior to the commencement of work on a project.
Quality Supervisor – is responsible to make sure that execution of work is implemented with
approved procedure & specification.
Site Engineer – is responsible to ensure that concerned work force is familiar with the activity,
hazards and mitigated effects of the situation and are responsible to ensure that the works
are carried out as per approved IFCs and applicable project standards.

Surveyor – is responsible to ensure that all Surveying Work is in accordance to approved data
and recorded well.

Site Foreman – is responsible to ensure that the work crew is familiar with the safety
requirement of the activity.

The safety of all personnel, equipment and plant operations will be the responsibility of the
Construction Manager in coordination with the Site Engineer.

4. Methodology

4.1 THREADING AND BENDING

 Only trained personnel shall operate the equipment


 One person must control the threading/bending work process, machine operation and
foot switch.
 Users shall ensure generators have been inspected and approved for use.
 Generators shall have an accessible stop button/shutdown switch for emergency shut
off.
 Outlets supplying portable electric power tools shall be equipped with a functioning
residual current device (RCD) and be limited to no more than 240 volts.
 Prevent unintentional starting of equipment. Ensure the switch is in the OFF position
before connecting to power source.
 The generator/equipment shall be properly grounded during use.
 Pulleys, belts, and fans shall be completely enclosed or otherwise guarded.
 Engine cover side panels shall be always closed when the engine is running.
 Do not use the threading/bending machine if the foot switch is broken or missing
 Portable generator equipment shall be located 23 m (75 ft.) away from flammable and
combustible material storage areas. The generator exhaust should be directed away
from any combustible or flammable material.
4.2 INSTALLATION OF CONDUITS AND TUBING

 Outlets supplying portable electric power tools shall be equipped with a functioning
residual current device (RCD) and be limited to no more than 240 volts.
 Users shall ensure generators/power tools have been inspected and approved for use.
 Generators shall have an accessible stop button/shutdown switch for emergency shut
off.
 Portable power tools shall be equipped with properly functioning constant pressure
switches or controls that will shut off the power when the pressure is released (i.e., a
“dead man” switch).
 The operating control on hand-held power tools shall be located to minimize the
possibility of inadvertent operation.
 Portable power tools shall be stored in clean and dry conditions.
 Portable power tools shall not be left lying around the work area where they could be
damaged.
 Personnel shall not operate any tools unless they are appropriately trained in their
selection, use, inspection, and storage.
 Excessively worn, defective or deformed tools shall not be used. If excessive wear,
defect, or damage is observed, the tool shall be immediately tagged and withdrawn
from use for repair or disposal.

 The correct type, size and weight of tool shall be used for each task.

4.3 CABLE PULLING AND TERMINATION

 Personnel shall not operate any tools unless they are appropriately trained in their
selection, use, inspection, and storage
 Copies of MSDS/CHB shall be readily available on site.
 The safety precautions listed on the MSDS/CHB shall be followed.
 Wash hands thoroughly after applying the lubricant
 Close/seal containers when not in use.
 Dispose the contaminated gloves/clothing immediately in a proper disposal container

4.4 CAD WELDING

 Prior to start, do a UT reading.


 Ensure the thermos weld equipment (Mold, torch) are free from defects
 Only trained personnel shall commence the cad welding.
 Ignite using a flint igniter
 Fire extinguisher (s) inspected, tagged, operable and accessible
 Provide trained and certified firewatcher
 Do not use worn or broken molds which could cause leakage of molten weld metal.
 CAD weld powder shall have proper storage and properly stored
 Wash hands thoroughly after the activity
 Ensure that walkway and working area is free from any obstruction

5. Safety

 The health and safety will perform a splendid role in all construction activities to ensure
that all the works are being carried out in a safe manner and creating a healthy
environment at site. All works performed by individuals will comply with the Client health
and Safety Standards.
 Ensured that all site personnel involved use their PPE. Housekeeping and safe access
properly maintained all the time. All the signs install prior to start the job.
 Site Supervisor will conduct daily toolbox meetings and explain the requirements of the
Client and other special needs to make and maintain a safe working environment.
 If there is any unsafe condition, Workers/ Equipment shall not be allowed to enter the
area.
 All activities will be carried out safely in accordance with Contractor’s HS plan approved by
the Client.

 Contractor will document all necessary record and will represent to Aramco Inspection
team for review and approval.
