 What is 5s?
5S is a Japanese word meaning Housekeeping.
5S is a basic technique to enhance the workplace
appearance and give a pleasant work environment.
5S is a methodology for organizing, cleaning,
developing, and sustaining a productive work
environment.

How to Start 5S

Conduct an initial meeting and tell your employees about


starting of 5S Program & get feedback of their
cooperation
Entire Organization should be divided into different
Zones (eg, Raw Material area, Shop Floor, Inspection,
Office, Welding, Press Shop etc.,)

Appoint Zone leaders for all zones. Zone leader should
have work experience & he should have the ability to
guide and control the employees who are all under him.
Draw Zone Map for all Zones & Display it in the
respective Zone.

Take photos of present level (Before Implementing 5S)
