ABSTRACT
Most of the people in this world like to travel from one place to another no matter
whether it is a small or large distance. The need for a tourism management system that can
manage tourism information with ease is sought after by every tour management company.
Tour Management system is a dynamic website for tourism business. This travel and tourism
application is designed for travel agencies by which they can manage different tour packages
based on the destinations. By using this, the tour company can tailor tour packages spanning
various destinations at almost every price point. Also, the implemented search module allows
the administrator to find and update or upgrade the tour packages with ease. This module
can also even be extended to a customer application page by which customers can find the
right tour package for them at every budget depending on the tour locations. The main
purpose is to help tourism companies to manage tour packages. The system can also be used
for both professional and business trips. The proposed system maintains a centralized
repository to make necessary travel arrangements and to retrieve information easily.

1 INTRODUCTION
We have developed an application to provide the best travelling services to the customers and
travel agents. The Tourism Management System provides a search platform where a tourist can
find their tour places according to their choices. This system also helps to promote responsible
and interesting tourism so that people can enjoy their holidays at their favourable places and
develop tourism with different cultures so that they enrich the tourism experience and build
pride. The Tourism Management System is a web-based application. The objective of this
project is to develop a system that automates the processes and activities of a travel agency. It is
tedious for a customer to plan a particular journey and have it executed properly. This project is
developed to replace the currently existing system, which helps in keeping records of the
customer details of destination as well as payment received. The proposed system is highly
automated and makes the travelling activities much easier and flexible. The users can get the
very right information at the very right time. This will increase the trust of the customer into the
tourism company as well. This project is designed with MySQL Server as back end. All the
data will be stored in the server and in case of any data losing situation, a backup will be
available by this server. The details related to every aspect of the tourist will be available
separately. The admins just have to click once and all the details will be available to them.

2 LITERATURE REVIEW
2.2.1 INTRODUCTION:
The proposed system is designed to be more efficient than the manual system. It
invokes all base tasks that are now carried out manually, such as the forms transactions and
reports which is added advantage. The proposed system is completely computer-based
application. This project is developed for a customer where he is able to book new
destination/hotels, cancel the destination/hotels booking details.

2.2.2 ARCHITECTURE/FRAMEWORK:
Travel and Tourism Management System web project has five modules. Those are
given below:
▪ User Authentication: This module is for user authentication. User visit this module and
enter user id and password. If user is new to this site then it goes to user registration page
etc.
▪ User Registration: This module covers the details about the registration of users which
they can be register by itself by adding data like name, password, email id and further
details. After registration they can be sign in by their username and password.
▪ Hotel, Package Creation: This module can only access by admin. In this module, admin
can create package and hotel for customer, which it will be showed in customer homepage.
6
▪ Package Booking: In this module maintain the booking of travel packages by the
customer by selecting a various packages with date and certain comments.
▪ Hotel Booking: In this module maintain the booking of hotels by the customer by
selecting a various hotels with date and certain comments.
2.2.3.1 ALGORITHM:
1. Start
2. If admin, then go to step 3 and if customer, then go to step 4.
3. Go to admin login page and sign in with correct username and password.
a) View all customer details.
b) Add packages.
c) Add hotels.
d) View booked package details by customer.
e) View booked hotel details by customer and then go to step 5.
4. If new customer, then go to sign up page and create an account otherwise go to customer
login page and sign in with correct username and password.
a) Add your details in the add customer details page.
b) View package and hotel in the destination and hotels page.
c) Book the package and hotel of yours in the destination and hotels booking page.
d) View your booked package and hotels details and then go to step 5.
5. Log out.
6. Stop.

2.2.4 PROCESS DESIGN:
DFD is the abbreviation for Data Flow Diagram. The flow of data of a system or a
process is represented by DFD. It also gives insight into the inputs and outputs of each entity
and the process itself. DFD does not have control flow and no loops or decision rules are
present. Specific operations depending on the type of data can be explained by a flowchart.
Data Flow Diagram can be represented in several ways. The DFD belongs to structured-
analysis modeling tools. Data Flow diagrams are very popular because they help us to
visualize the major steps and data involved in software-system processes.

3 PROBLEM FORMULATION
❖ There will be many users visiting the portal and hence we require a strong and
reliablefrontend which can hold the users on our site.
❖ We need a strong database where data will be store of everyone.
❖ Authentication is provided for this application only registered agencies can access.
❖ There is no risk of data management at any level while the project development is
underprocess.

4 OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the Tourism Management System is to manage the details of Customer,
Hotel Booking, Cancellation and Tourism places. It manages all the information about Users,
Hotel, Packages etc. The project is totally built at administrative end and therefore only the
administrator are access to the backend database. The purpose of this project is to build an
application program to reduce the manual work for managing Tourists, Booking, Places etc.
❖ This application will help in accessing the information related to the travel to the particular
destination with great ease. The users can track the information related to their tours with
great ease through this application. The travel agency information can also be obtained
through this application.
❖ The propose system is highly automated and makes the travelling activities much easier
and flexible. The user can get the very right information at the very right time. This system
will include all the necessary fields which are required during online reservation time.
This system will be easy to use and can be used by any person. The basic idea behind this
project is to save data in a central database which can be accessed by any authorize person
to get information and saves time and burden which are being faced by their customers.
❖ Administrator can access and modify the information stored in the database of this system,
this includes adding and updating of details, and it will give accurate information and
simplifies manual work and also it minimizes the documentation related work. Provides
up to date information. Finally booking confirmation notification will be send to the users.
❖ Tourists can register by providing personal details, make new reservation and book only
one hotel and package and can make cancellation.

5 METHODOLOGIES
1. DBMS: Database is a collection of related data and data is collection of facts and
figure that can be procedure information.
2. MySQL: SQL is a Structured Query Language, which is a computer language for
storing, manipulating and retrieving data stored in a relation database.
3. JAVA: Java is a widely used object-oriented programming language and
software platform that runs on billions of devices, including notebook
computers, mobile devices, gaming consoles, medical devices and many
others.
4. SWING: Swing is the collection of user interface components for Java
programs. It is part of Java Foundation classes that are referred to as JFC.
5. AWT: The Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT) is Java's original platform-
dependent windowing, graphics, and user-interface widget toolkit, preceding
Swing. The AWT is part of the Java Foundation Classes (JFC) — the standard
API for providing a graphical user interface (GUI) for a Java program.

APPENDICIES
The total length of the Study was about 4 months. The "Day Dream Travels " started
in the beginning of August 2022 and lasted for 3.5 months. Initially, we started with reading
the content, designing the structure that is how our final project will look like.
Then, we entered into the technical part, searching for the technologies which can enhance
our project.
After this, we started learning the technologies we were not aware off.
After learning all the technologies, we landed over to making our project, that we started with
All the SQL queries to make our database, and ended up with different Java files to perform
different functionality in our project.
The Final report will be submitted by November 2022.
