BASK and BFSK

1. Binary amplitude shift keying (BASK) is a digital modulation technique where the presence or absence of a carrier wave represents a 1 or 0 in the transmitted signal. 2. In a binary frequency shift keying (FSK) system, symbols 0 and 1 are distinguished by transmitting one of two sinusoids at frequencies differing by a fixed amount. 3. At the receiver, coherent detection is used where the received signal is correlated with in-phase and quadrature reference signals to recover the transmitted binary sequence.
