Engine Wiring Harness March 2013

This Service Letter is a Product Improvement Program (PIP) that is a parts stock action to inspect the engine
wiring harness that is used on 1300 Series engines.

Notes:
The termination date for the program is the 31st May 2013.
The information supplied in this Service Letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.
Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your
Perkins product support representative.

Problem
Engine wiring harness (Perkins part number 1889275C92) needs to be inspected and possibly removed from
distributor and dealer parts stock.

Action Required
Inspect all engine wiring harness (Perkins part number 1889275C92) in parts stock.
If the engine wiring harness (Perkins part number 1889275C92) is in parts stock, then the engine wiring
harness should be rejected from the parts stock.
Engine wiring harness (Perkins part number 1889275C92) should be replaced with engine wiring harness
(Perkins part number 1889275C91).
Engine wiring harness (Perkins part number 1889275C92) should be returned to Perkins Parts Distribution
Centre, Irlam, Manchester using the Return Goods Request (RGR) process.
