Summary :

Emil Harker was a rich man. He is a smuggler; his gang was Fame, Zara, Don, Ezra. But Ezra has bad
argument with Harker, then he left from Harker’s gang and make his own. Harker sits in his hut and
writing for the poem when the phone rings. He picks it up and recognises Ezra. Some time later Ezra
comes in his hut and two men grab him. In other place, Fame was going to Harker’s hut to meet
Harker. He had appointment with Harker. In the frontier post, the two customs, Rank and Silver, get
telephone from the Inspector Roland that they have to watch to Fame. When Fame reaches to
frontier post, the two customs check Fame’s car, but they don’t find anything. After Fame reach
Hurker’s hut, he found that Harker was hanging and he found some poem addressed to him. Then he
hears some voices. There are two men who are looking for the poem. Fame escapes trough a
window and when he drives away he hears the sound of guns. Fame is driving to the town of Darna.
There he goes to the Garden Hotel. When he is in his room he begins to think. After a few minutes
he rings Zara. In that call Zara makes an appointment with Fame on the terrace of the hotel. Fame
hears on the radio that The golden head of the Pharao is stolen.
When he meets Zara the next morning, Fame tells her everything what has happened. The waiter
tells Fame that there is a call for him and Fame walks to the phone. When he hears there isn’t
anyone on the phone he walks back to the terrace. Zara is gone and the waiter is also gone. No one
knows the waiter at the hotel.
Then he hears a car starting on the other side of the garden wall. A big american car roars away.
Fame runs across the garden and gets in his own car. He is going in the same direction as the
american car was heading, and after a few minutes he sees Zara at the side of the road. The men
who took Zara have got the poem but Fame had made a copy of it.
They are going to see Don’s hide out now. Fame says to Don that Harker is dead. Before Don can
speak two cars come into his garden. It is inspector Roland with his police men.
When Inspector Roland comes in the room, the other tree police men begin to search in the area.
Half an hour later the Inspector goes out with a police man. They search in the back of a car, and five
minutes later they come back. Then Inspector Roland shows Fame a piece of a newspaper about the
stolen head of the Pharoa. Nor Don, nor Zara, nor Fame know anything about the head. Then he
shows a photo of a reception in the museum. Harker is on the photo in the museum and on the back
of the photo there is written “C 304 Monday”.
The inspector doesn't know that Harker is dead so Fame agreed to find Harker and take Don as a
hostage. The Inspector thinks that it is a good idea.
Fame and Zara know that the writing on the back means 'Room 304 and the C of Chefren'. The
Imperial hotel is the only hotel with so many rooms. When they finish their coffee they see the Bald
(waiter) walking to his car. They follow them man to the Imperial hotel. Room 304 is Ezra’s room and
the bald man with his men are staying in room 303, next to room 304.
Fame goes to the frontier to do his business as usual. At the frontier Silver gets a phone call that they
must search Fame’s car carefully, when they do that they find nothing.
The Inspector knows that Harker is dead. Fame is driving to Zara in Darna, and then, in the hills of
Darna he hears some shots.
He hears men shouting at his car. Fame stops and gets out of his car, falls down a hill and lands in
the bushes. Ezra is at the top of the hill and arrest Fame.
When they come into Darna they stop by a house and take Fame inside. They put him in the cellar.
Ezra asks a few questions about the stolen head but Fame doesn’t know anything. Ezra has the poem
too and asks Fame what it means. Fame doesn’t know.
Fame is back in the cellar and he doesn’t know how many times they have hit him. He only knows
that he must escape.Hetry to escape from the window. He jumps into his car and drives away
fast,but he sees the dark blue car following him. He runs out of his car and runs through the small
exit. Fame runs into a narrow street. It ends on a high wall, but it’s very dark. He feels a door handle
and opens it. When Fame looks around he recognises that he is in a garden. When he looks through
a window then the door opens. He hears a voice he knows, it’s inspector Roland.
Fame sits down on a chair in the police office and tells the inspector the whole story. At the end of
the story, the inspector asks where is the golden head. But Fame doesn’t know.
The inspector shows Fame a piece of paper. He recognises it immediately: it is Harker’s poem. The
inspector got it from Zara.
When he rings a bell, Zara and Don com in followed by a policeman.
The inspector wants that Fame, Zara and Don find out what the poem means. When the inspector is
gone they take a look at the poem. After half an hour they try something with the letters of the
poem. A few minutes later they find “G O L A B R I D G E “.
They whisper because there are some police men in their room. When Zara asks for a glass of water
they hit the other police man and escape.
They go out of the police office towards the Golabrigde. On the table in the police office lies a piece
of paper with “Golabridge” written on it.
When they come by the Golabridge they take a look at the poem, and know the meant of the poem.
In the big rock is a small cave. Inside that cave lies the golden head. They want to give it to inspector
Roland but then Ezra comes and he wants the head.They all have guns so they have no choice.
Ezra says that Fame, Zara and Don must go sit in Fame’s car. Ezra and his men want to push the car
down the hills. At that moment a shot is heard and Ezra falls down. It is Inspector Roland. He had
found the piece of paper with “Golabridge” on it.
Fame gives Inspector Roland the golden head and the Inspector arrested Ezra’s men.
Five years later Fame and the Inspector meet each other again. Fame is married with to Zara and
they have two children. When the Inspector asks what Fame had been smuggling all these years he
said that he smuggling car that he used.

Comment :
I am sure that if we do something wrong we will have the impact whether it is bad or good as like
the stories tell. It is nice story and also entertaining enough for me. And I think the story was so
exciting. The reader will not difficult to understand the novel.
