1. The document provides examples of symbols in paintings such as doves representing peace and red roses representing love. It also discusses primary colors like yellow, blue, and red that cannot be created by mixing other colors. Combining primary colors makes secondary colors which can then make tertiary colors. 2. Primary colors affect paintings because combining them creates other colors that can be used to depict certain things, like combining blue and white to recreate the color of the sky. 3. The best colors for a painting of sea waves on a beach would be a combination of brown, blue, and white to accurately show the scene.

DALE D.

MACERIN ART APPRECIATION

BSCE 4A October 3, 2022

MODULE 5
Activity 1
Direction: Answer the following questions on one whole sheet of paper.
1. Give at least three objects that have symbolism in the painting. Example dove as
a symbol of peace.
red rose–symbolizes love and romance.
four-leaf clover–symbolizes good luck or fortune.
wedding ring–symbolizes commitment and matrimony.

2. What is the meaning of primary colors, and how does it affect a painting?
Primary colors include yellow, blue, and red. These are colors that cannot be created
by mixing other colors. Combining this would create secondary colors, which then
the secondary colors would combined again to create tertiary colors. By combining
these colors could make a certain color that you would to paint in your artwork. For
example, the color of the sky cannot be achieved without the combination colors of
white and blue.

3. What are the best colors you will use in your painting, and why?
I think the best colors I would be using in my painting is like a little combination of
colors brow, blue, white. I am picturing of making a painting of the sea waves hitting
the sands in the bay.
