LEARNING ACTIVITY 2
• To select your advanced Word options, choose File > Options. On the left pane, select
Advanced. Select how you want to paste content and formatting within the same document
or between different documents and apps. Choose how you want to select, replace, and
format words and paragraphs.
• Microsoft Office Word is a word processing program that allows you to create and edit
documents such as letters, reports, invoices, emails, and books.
• This program will help you create documents with many kinds of content, including
pictures, charts, and diagrams. It will also help you store reusable content and formats,
like cover pages and sidebars. You'll learn to create letters and letterheads for personal
or business use. And you'll design different kinds of documents such as resumes or
invitation cards.
• Word processors are among the most used applications on computers in education. They
are used to compose, edit, save, and print documents. When you compose on a word
processor, you can type directly into it, as if you were using a typewriter. However, unlike
with a typewriter, most word processors have a "wrap-around" feature, which means that
text automatically is placed on the next line if it cannot all fit on the previous line. Therefore,
with a word processor, you do not have to hit the return key at the end of each line unless
you want to force a line break (such as at the end of a paragraph).
Editing is the process of correcting or revising text that has already been typed. Good
editing involves replacing words with other words, moving text to new locations, inserting,
and deleting information, and using spell-check. Word processors make effective editing
easier; we need to be aware of this and foster effective editing skills among students.
