Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Today we will be presenting our project proposal
which is entitled OPERATION SHELTER ME NOW: INSTALLING A MULTI-PURPOSE
WAITING SHED OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL
Introduction
In these times, unpredictable weather has become a daily burden to those students
who commute or walk their way to the school and to their homes after classes. On some
days, heavy rainfalls may occur and on some other days, heat from the sun may also
become unbearable, given the fact that we live in a tropical country . And ever since
then, we haven't been provided a proper waiting shed at Mandaue City Science High
School.
A waiting shed is a small structure built primarily along roads to serve as a waiting
area. Waiting shed is essential for a student like us because it can provide shelter from
rain or from extremely hot weather. If it rains, students who will be fetch can wait under
the waiting shed instead of running their way to their fetcher's vehicle. Students who will
commute or walk can also stay at the waiting shed until the rain subsides. And if the
weather is too hot, the waiting shed can help the students from enduring the blazing
heat of the sun and provide them a cooler place to stay. Students need and require a
waiting shed because they just simply want to have a comfortable and secure waiting
area.

The overall cost of this project is estimated to be around Php 52,000. To make this
project possible, the budget would be provided by the Parent-Teacher Association
(PTA), alumni associations, available school funds, and charitable stakeholders or
investors.
Project Description
This project is intended to help the students of Mandaue City Science High
School. The school needs a proper and safe waiting shed, which is one of the problems
encountered by the students because the school doesn't have one and the students
need a temporary shelter whenever they are stuck in extreme and unpredictable
weather. The main goal of this project is to help the school in building a waiting shed for
the benefit of the students.
Furthermore, the proponents presented a multi-purpose waiting shed because we
added some advancements or improvements to it. So obviously, a waiting shed is
placed outside the school. And in Mandaue City Science High School, there are plant
boxes outside. We just couldn't throw away those plants as they are helpful in making
the school look nice and neat. So we thought of an idea to put a shelves in the waiting
shed so we could place those plants there instead of throwing and wasting them away.
The next is to have the seats in the waiting shed be foldable in order to maximize the
space. If the student want to take a seat then they can open it. And if not, they can just
leave it as it is without taking too much space.
Lastly, we decided this project to be a solar powered waiting shed. It is a solar-
powered waiting area that offers charging outlets powered by thin, light solar panels that
don't need any additional support. This design makes use of solar energy, which either
directly powers the end user's gadgets or stores energy in the battery, which serves as
a backup or secondary source of energy. This is a very resourceful idea because it
doesn't need any electricity and only the energy coming from the sun. This is also very
helpful to students who run of battery and couldn't find an accesible and nearby
charging port.
Rationale
Establishing this proposed waiting shed is highly beneficial to the students for their
safety and comfort. With this project, this will also reassure the parents of the students
that their children will have a nice and presentable waiting area outside the school
where they can stay while waiting to be fetched by them. This is also not just beneficial
to the students but also to the nearby community as they can use the waiting shed
whenever they needed to. This project is feasible because the estimated costs of
constructing it dosn't really entail a huge amount of money. With the help of everyone
contributing and donating, this will be finished in no time if approved by the school and
baranggay officials.
