C Nav 1pps

The document provides instructions for configuring a C-Nav3050 receiver to output a 1 pulse per second (1PPS) signal for time synchronization purposes. It explains that the 1PPS output is not enabled by default and requires purchasing a software option. It then describes configuring the 1PPS output settings such as polarity, pulse width, interval, signal delay and chip delay. Finally, it shows the hardware needed to interface with the 1PPS output via the COM1 or power port.

How to Output 1PPS from a C-Nav3050

Section 1 - Overview
Introduction
A pulse is available from the C-Nav3050 via either COM1 or the POWER
connector at an output rate of once per second. This pulse can be used for a
variety of Time / Mark applications where relative timing is required.

Specifications for this pulse are as follows:

 25ns relative accuracy
 Better than 100ns absolute accuracy
 5V TTL Logic level output
 1PPS Output Impedance > 50 Ohms
 Pulse width, default 1mS
 Pulse delay, default 0mS
 Rising or Falling Edge Synchronization

Section 2 - 1PPS Output Software

Option
The C-Nav3050 possesses the capability to output a 1PPS pulse for time syncing
purposes. However, this feature does not come enabled by default. Contact
C-Nav Support ([email protected]) to purchase this software option to enable
it. Once the Software Option code is received, enter the code manually on the
Software Options page and refer to CNAV-MAN-047.1 (How to Input Software
Options for a C-Nav3050). After applying the code, the 1PPS Event Latch field
should display ‘Yes’.
