Q: Define application software, list different types of application software?


Ans: A software which is developed to help the user to perform specific task is
called application software.
Various kinds of application software are:
 Entertainment software that provides any form of entertainment such as
videos games, videos, music, cartoon etc.
 Productivity software used for producing information such as text
documents, presentations, worksheets, databases, digital paintings, digital
videos etc.
 Education and Reference software are used to support and enhance learning
activities such as online encyclopedia, dictionaries, educational games,
Google maps, simulation programs, tutorials etc.
Q:Write down any three steps for sitting postures for typing?
Ans: (i) sit straight and remember to keep his back straight
(ii) keep elbows bent at the right angle.
(iii) Face the screen with head slightly tilted forward
Q:3 Define 3D object, write down steps to create any 3D object?
Ans: 3D (three dimensional) model is a technique in computer Graphics used to
visualize real world objects using x, y amd z axis representing height, width and
depth.
3D objects can be moved in and out of the plane of the canvas.
Following are the the steps to create 3D object:
(i) select 3D shape tool
(ii) select the cube object
(iii) select material (appearance of surface)
(iv) Drag out a cube
(v) Rotate the cube around each of the 3 axes
(vi) skew the cube
(vii) change the color of the cube

(viii) Flip the cube horizontally or vertically


Q:4 Write down the use of PhET simulation?
Ans: PhET (Physics Education Technology) is a combination of computer
interactive simulations that are developed to support teaching and learning science
subjects. It provides fun and interactive research-based simulation.
These simulations provide interactivity, make the invisible visible, show visual
mental models with multiple representations.(e.g. Object motion, graphs, numbers
etc). PhET simulations ensure that all students including students with disabilities
are allowed access to high –quality learning experiences.
