Chapter 4

The document summarizes the results of a study conducted with 42 GAS 11 students about the vices they developed during the pandemic. Most respondents reported spending excessive time on social media, online games, and streaming shows and movies. While some were able to reduce their time on vices, most felt they could not completely stop due to the boredom of limited activities and need for stress relief during the pandemic. The document analyzed respondents' demographic data and provided detailed responses to questions about their vices, reasons for continuing them, and ability to stop them in the future.

This study sought to answer the following questions:

1. What is/are the vice/s you developed in the midst of the Pandemic?

 Most of the answers involved playing mobile games and using the internet or social
media, as well as playing sports such as basketball and volleyball and watching series and
Korean dramas.

2. Do you still do this/these vice/s? If yes what things push you, to still do this/these vice/s? If no
what things that makes you stop from your vice/s?

 Some say yes, some say no; when they say yes, they are concerned about boredom because
they can't leave the house and there is no face-to-face class; when they say no, they avoid
spending too much time on the internet and social media and instead focus on the activities
that must be completed.

3. What are the things this/these vice/s gave you that makes you spend a lot of time to this/these
vice/s?

 In addition to being a hobby, it allows the mistress to get lost in her schoolwork and makes
it easier to talk to friends because online classes are still available until now.

4. What are the reasons why you developed the vice/s during the pandemic?

 To have some fun in order to relieve the boredom of not being able to get out and the
pressure on students to suddenly change the way they study when the pandemic started.

5. Do you think you can stop yourself doing the vice/s you developed during the pandemic, like
you can totally free yourself from those vice/s? Why or why not?

 Most of the time, the answer is no, because it provides entertainment and serves as a stress
reliever. Vices such as playing video games and watching Korean dramas will not go
away, but we can limit ourselves so that it does not lead to addiction and is beneficial to
our health.
