Understanding PPT

The document discusses the nano Camera Control Module (nCCM) for a satellite system. It provides definitions for several acronyms related to the camera system and its interfaces. It describes the image capture process where 2048x1096 pixel images are captured across 50 bands at 6.14Gbps by the camera and stored in 4 nCCMs at 1.6Gbps each. The data is then sent to the ground station at 500Mbps. It outlines the software and hardware flows for reading data from the nCCMs and packetizing it before transmission via the X-Band radio.

CIM-P : Camera Module Interface Power
SRR : System Requirement Review
GSD : Ground Sample Distance
ICD : Interface Control Document
AOC : Attitude of Orbital Control
PDM : Power Distribution Management
SRR : System Requirements Reviews

- FDIR to be addressed, safety state to be taken care of.

- Handling of TC/TM.
- Mission Control CMDs :Two Steps execution
- FDIR : Checks Malfunction, Performs Recovery Actions and provides
visibility.

Data and Calculations
1 pixel = 10 bits

2048*1096 array

2048 pixels across the flow, 512 lines ( Tilestrip) with 50 bands each line - Fixed

Area is swapped by adding the tilestrips, going along the satellite movement

Total data rate from camera = 6.144Gbps ( Camera Write Rate ) ( 50 bands * 10 bits * 2048 pixels * 512 lines * ( speed/no. of bits )

Date rate from nccm while reading = 1.6 Gbps ( 4nccms * 100MHz * 2 data lines * ddr rate )

Date rate while sending to GND = 500Mbps

Read from Nccm will take 3.84 sec against 1 sec of data from camera, while 12.2 sec of read to station.
Software Works - OBC will handle these features with the help of RS422 interface

- PPS for nCCMs Syncronization, to avoid overhead.

- Offset has to be calculated for each nCCMs and then needs to be feeded for starting the
capture at different times.
- Time stamped data from Q8JS to nCCM , nCCM to add Space data and send back the
same once CMD Store is executed.
- Image Lookup and Image Table , Image Entry sequences to be supplied via RS422 from
OBC.
- Set of CMD sequences to be issued, to get the data from nCCM.
Data Format
10 bits of data : Sync/DnC/(Data/Cntrl)
Sync : 0 - Start/Stop/EOP : Cntrl ( 3bits )
Sync : 1 - Data Packets Continuous
Packetization : 10 bits - Store 4 such 10 bits in 5 byte, Store 4 such 10 bits in 10
bytes : 10 data, extra 6 bits 0 padding
Two data lines with LVDS interface from nCCM
Flow : RTL/ Hardware
- Two types of data flow : Normal through XIPHOS-Q8JS using DDR memory
and Directly from nCCM to X-Band using the Flash memory integrated with
nCCM( in case of issue in the Zynq FPGA ).
- Packetization in the format of CCDS with SDLS and DVBS2X (radio interface)
before sending to X-Band through LVDS interface.
- AXI-PCIe bridge and XDMA IPs used for data flow.
- XIPHOS-Q8JS with CIM-D(2-SSDs), CIM-P(PDM) and 4 nCCMs on the patch
Cord integrated.
- RS 422 for OBC communication - Software Instructions.
- RS 485 for X- Band communication.
- TE : RS485 and TC : I2C
