Types of Graphs: Different Ways to Represent Data
There are many types of Graph, but we only will discuss about 3 types of Graph: Pictograph
(Pictogram), Frequency table and Bar Charts (Bar Graph). Let us learn and discuss the
definition, example and how to use each of the charts.

Frequency Table
• Frequency tables show the number of pieces of data that fall within given intervals.

Pictogram
• Pictogram or Pictograph is a pictorial representation of statistics on a chart, graph, or
computer screen.

Bar Charts
• Bar charts are used to display categories of data.
• A bar chart or a bar graph is one method of comparing data by using solid bars to represent
unique quantities

What we will learn?


We will learn to read and make Pictograms and Bar Charts using scales (usually also written as
“KEY”)
