SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE


A. Usage
Simple future tense is a sentence structure used to describe events or activities that will occur
or will be done in the future and will end in the future.
Indonesian : Simple future tense adalah sebuah struktur kalimat yang digunakan untuk
menjelaskan kejadian atau aktivitas yang akan terjadi atau akan dilakukan di masa depan dan
akan berakhir di masa depan.
B. Time Signal
Tonight = malam ini
Tomorrow = besok
The dayafter tomorrow = besok lusa
In a little while = sebentar lagi
Two days later = dua hari lagi
Until = hingga
C. Pattern
i. I, You, They, We

(+) S + will/shall + V-1 + O


(-) S + will/shall + not + V-1 + O
(?) Will/shall + S + V-1 + O?

He, She, It

(+)S + am/is/are + going to + V-1 + O


(-) S + am/is/are + not + going to + V-1 + O
(?) Am/is/are + S + going to + V-1 + O?
ii. I , You, They, We

(+) I shall go to Manila tomorrow morning

X. Future Continous Tense
A. Usage
The use of this tense indicates that an event will occur in the future and will continue for
some time. The important thing to remember is that an event described by this tense has a
time duration.
Indonesia
Penggunaaan tense ini menunjukkan bahwa suatu kejadian akan terjadi di masa depan dan
terus berlanjut untuk beberapa waktu. Hal yang penting untuk diingat adalah bahwa suatu
kejadian yang digambarkan dengan tense ini memiliki durasi waktu.
B. Time Signal
Tomorrow = besok
While = sementara
When = ketika
If = jika
At this morning = pada pagi ini
C. Pattern
(+) S + will + be + (V1+ing) + O/Adv
(-) S + will + not + be + (V1+ing) + O/Adv
(?) Will + S + not + be + (V1+ing) + O/Adv?

D. Example
(+) He will attending to my party tomorrow
(-) He will not be attending to my party tomorrow
(?) Will he be attending to my party tomorrow? Yes, he will
Will he be attending to my party tomorrow? No, he will not
