ASSESSMENT OF SPEAKING & LISTENING (ASL- 2021-22)

Class: IX English MM: 10


Dear Parents,
Assessment of Speaking and Listening for Term 1 will be conducted as per the following
schedule:

Assessment of Listening: MM: 05 Special Meeting: 11:00 am to 11:30 a.m.

Date: Wednesday, September 15, 2021 - IX A to IXE (All students. No Retest)

Assessment of Speaking: MM: 05 (August 31- Sept 3, 2021)


To be taken by respective English teachers in the English period.

Parameters for Assessment :( as per CBSE guidelines)


I. Interactive competence (Initiation & turn taking, relevance to the topic).
ii. Fluency (cohesion, coherence and speed of delivery).
iii. Pronunciation
IV. Language (accuracy and vocabulary).

Guidelines for the Online Speaking Assessment:


1. Keep the video mode on while taking the speaking test.
2. Wear school uniform/white shirt (preferably)
3. Reading from paper/screen must be avoided.
4. Adhere to the time limit. (1.5- 2 minutes).
5. Keep yourself on ‘mute’ while your classmate is taking the speaking test.

IMPORTANT
*Topic for the Speaking Assessment will be released a day prior to the assessment.
*Everyday a different topic will be released. However, all the topics will be based on
contemporary events.
*All the sessions of the ASL will be recorded for the purpose of evidence, to be shared
with the CBSE.
*In case, a student faces any technical glitches or any other issue on the scheduled day
of his/ her test or prior, the same should be brought to the notice of the respective
English teacher.
