Learning By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to :


Objectives 1. explain simple content on hobbies by using I-think map and
give own opinion by using the speaking frame - suggested
phrases.
2. understand independently more complex questions on
hobbies and make relevant responses using suggested
vocabulary.
Activities
Pre – lesson 1. Pupils recall what they remember from the previous
(5 minutes) lesson : Hangman : vocabulary words/phrases related to
communication. [FA]
2. WALT is introduced to the pupils.

Lesson First Activity


development 3. Pupils read the instruction and teacher checks as a class
(25 minutes) [Lollipop] that they understand what they have to do.
4. Pupils read the questions individually and teacher answers
any queries they may have:
5. Pupils make I-think map individually to help them express
their opinion and explain their responses. [DS]
6. Pupils are reminded that their responses should make use
of the target vocabulary and phrases.
7. Pupils are asked if they need sample sentences, and those
who put up their hands are given sample sentences using
the suggested phrases to start the sentence. [DS]
i. I think (activity C is quite dangerous)
ii. I suppose (if they choose a well-known site, it would
be safe)
iii. People my age are crazy about (the game PUBG
Online)
iv. It’s an ideal activity for those who like (tough
(25 minutes) physical activities)
v. I’d like to take up (art) because I think it would help
calm the mind.
8. Pupils take turns to ask and answer questions about target
hobbies with their shoulder partner. [LO1]
9. At least 2 pairs are chosen to share their responses with the
class. [FA]

Second Activity
10.Pupils are divided into groups of 4 – grouped by the picture
they choose from A, B, C, D. [DS]
11.Pupils are asked to come up with 2 other complex
questions (has more than one clause / idea) on one specific
activity.
12.Sample of complex question is given. [DS]
- Ex: Who would you recommend this activity to in the
class? Why?
13.In their groups of 4, pupils take turns asking about target
hobbies to one pupil on a Hot Seat who has to pick 2
questions and answer them. [LO2]
14.Pupils’ progress and involvement are monitored by teacher
going around the class helping groups that need it. [DS]
15.Notes of mistakes that need to be addressed is done by the
teacher.

16.Pupils’ responses that do not answer the questions
[hobbies] are written on the board and teachers correct
them with the class. [FA]
