4. OPERATIONAL CRITERIA
• For heavy load or impact at feeding zone, shock absorber idlers or slider bed is required on loading area
• Belt "soft" start (for example: fluid coupling or VSD) should be install to increase belt life time
• Guide rollers on self aligning idlers shall be installed, every 50m
SAFETY
• Shall comply with the local safety regulation
• Shall comply with the LAFARGE “Safety Requirements for Design Engineering”
• Shall comply with the LAFARGE Division Technical Standard for Safety for Belt Conveyors
• If the local regulation are different than specified in the Safety Requirements, then the more stringent
condition shall prevail
• The conveyors shall have a walkway on each side, with hand rails, when the access is not possible from
ground floor
• The conveyor shall have a safety emergency shut-down pull rope on each side
