SOLIDWORK

SolidWorks is a 3D CAD and CAE software program used primarily for 3D mechanical design, simulation, and engineering analysis. It allows users to create 2D sketches and 3D models, assemble parts, and perform finite element analysis. Some key features of SolidWorks include extruded bosses/bases to create solid features, revolved bosses/bases to create parts around an axis, and swept bosses/bases to sweep a profile along an open or closed path.

WHAT IS SOLIDWORK
SolidWorks is a solid modeling computer-aided design (CAD)
and computer-aided engineering (CAE) computer
program that runs primarily on Microsoft Windows. While it
is possible to run SolidWorks on MacOS, It is not supported
by SolidWorks.

Extend Entities

Offset Entities
Add sketch entities by offsetting faces, edges, curves or sketch
entities a specified distance.

QUICK SNAPS
Quick snaps selecting a particular quick snaps filters out other
sketch snaps, enabling you to focus on a particular capability.

RAPAIR SKETCH
Repair sketch automatically repairs small sketch entities
(entities whose chain length is less than twice the maximum
gap value) repair sketch deletes these from the sketch.
Overlapping sketch lines and arcs.

SOLIDWORK FEATURES
EXTRUDES BOSS/BASE
Extrude a sketch or selected sketch contours in one or two
directions to create a solid features.

The form option means as follows –

SKETCH PLANE
The plane in which the sketch was created.
SURFACE / FACE/ PLANE
A different surface / plane / face than the initial sketch.

VERTEX – A Point
Offset – an offset distance from the original sketch plane.

Direction 1
Blind – a specified distance
Up to surface – up to a surface/plane / face.
Offset from surface – a specified distance away from a surface
Up to body – up to a body within the model.
Midplane – a specified total distances in both directions,
normal to the sketch plane.
