Install FlexNET server

Installation

1) First install purchased programs to the workstations according install.doc

2) Copy files from SERVER-folder (CD) to the server. You can choose freely where to copy these
files. This instruction continues to show how to create the Flexnet server when files are copied to
c:\Server-folder.

3) Start LMTOOLS.EXE, go to the Config Services-page and create new service name (this example
uses service name Navistools) and define paths according following picture.

Attached NavistoolsServer.lic is an example license file which is only included for support purposes,
that you can also add path to the license file. Permanent license file needs the customers server
name and the Ethernet-address.

When you have entered all paths, save information with Save Service-button. Then go to the
Service/License File-page and start using Navistools service.

4) Server name and Ethernet-address

Software is now installed and next we need Server name and Ethernet-address
for generating the permanent license file. You can find them in the S ystems Settings-page.

Server name = Computer/Hostname, ecm in this example


Ethernet address = Ethernet Address, 14dae9f11702 in this example

If server has several addresses, choose the first one

You get soon email attached with permanent license file (NavistoolsServerl.lic). Copy it to the same
server folder where temporary license file (same name) exists and overwrite it.

5) Starting the server and browsing for the license information

When you have got the permanent license file and have installed it, you can start license server
from Start/Stop/Reread-page by pressing the Start Server-button.

You can inspect use of licenses from Server Status-page. When pressing Perform Status Enquiry-
button program lists total amounts of all purchased Navistools licenses and how many of them are
currently in use.
