✓ Course Description:
Math 3-Linear algebra is a 3 unit course designed to suit the needs of BIT
students. This course includes the basic ideas on the study of systems of linear
equations, matrices, determinants, vectors and vector spaces, linear transformations,
eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and their applications
✓ Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, the students must have:
1. defined accurately and illustrate specific linear algebra concepts such as
different matrix operations, vectors and subspaces, linear independence,
spanning sets, bases and dimension, linear transformation, kernel and
range, characteristic polynomials, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and
diagonalizability;
2. performed the different matrix operations and its applications to understand
further topics in this course;
3. applied the appropriate linear algebra concepts, thinking processes, tools
and technologies in solving both conceptual and real-life problems; and
4. exerted patience, hard work, and the appreciation in the process of
conceptualizing this course.
