COURSE SYLLABUS

COURSE DESCRIPTION

A course designed to be done inside and outside of the classroom; and by so doing, students shall be able to practice the different
spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith. Moreover, students shall learn to engage the Bible through reading, meditation,
interpretation, and construction of sermons / Bible lessons for practical application in the ministry context.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

At the end of the course, the students shall:

1. Demonstrate respect and love for the Bible as the Word of God through Bible reading and meditation
2. Construct sermon / Bible lesson outlines borne out of meditation and prayer for preaching and teaching
3. Write daily (Monday-Friday) Reflections on Bible passages and share them in class
4. Submit the Reflections as a book (hard-bound) at the end of the school year.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS / POLICIES

1. Students are required to attend class session on time. Classes shall start at the scheduled time except in some emergency and
special cases. There shall be a ten (10)- minute allowance for students to get to the class after which the door shall be closed
during the remainder of the class session. A student with three (3) unexcused absences shall automatically receive a failing
grade. In cases when a student cannot attend the class, he / she must write a letter to the instructor detailing the reason/s for the
absence. This letter MUST bear his / her pastor’s signature. Failure to present the letter shall be counted as absence from the
class.
2. Students are required to write DAILY (Monday-Friday) REFLECTION PAPERS. These reflection papers will be put in an
envelope, and will be submitted in a book form (hard-bound) at the end of the school year. Sixty (60) Reflection Days
throughout each semester are required to pass.
3. Each student is required to lead a devotional on a biblical passage / chapter of his / her choice every class session, as assigned
by the instructor.
4. Students are required to memorize certain Bible passages as determined by the instructor and recite them in the class.
5. Students are required to submit a weekly ministry report as part of their involvement in the ministry, and it should bear their
Pastor or Church Leader’s signature.
