Safety precautions
The safe running of this product depends on proper installation, operation and
maintenance, please carefully read and pay attention to the hints related to
safety in this Manual.
● Please use the product after being familiar with the knowledge,
safety information and all precautions about Vector Inverter.
● This Manual should be kept by its actual user.
● In this Manual, there are two safety classes,“Danger”and“Warning”,
which are marked as follows:
:It indicates death or severe personal injury if
ignored.
(1) Install the inverter firmly on the object that can bear its weight;
otherwise, there may be the risk of personal injury or equipment
damage.
(2) Do not let metal foreign objects fall into the inverter, or an accident
may occur.
(3) Do not install or operate the damaged inverter, or an accident may
occur.
(1) Install the circuit breaker that matches the capacity of the inverter
at the input side of power supply; otherwise, personal injury or death,
equipment damage or other accidents may occur.
(2) The PE terminal of the inverter must be grounded reliably;
otherwise, there may be the risk of electric shock or fire.
(3) Tighten the screws at the power input terminal and motor output
terminal; otherwise there may be the risk of fire.
(4) Wiring must be carried out by the qualified personnel.
(5) Wiring must be carried out after confirming that the power is off and
the power supply charging indicator is off.
(1) Always ensure that the input power matches the data at the
nameplate, or the inverter may be damaged.
(2) Do not connect the power input wire to the output terminal (U.V.W)
of the inverter, or the inverter may be damaged.
(1) Do not turn on the power until the inverter cover is covered;
otherwise there is the risk of electric shock.
(2) After the inverter is powered on, even if it is in the stop state, do not
touch the main circuit terminal of the inverter; otherwise there is the risk
of electric shock.
(1) Use the “ ” key at the keyboard or the external ON / OFF
terminal to stop the inverter. Do not directly disconnect the main power
supply of the inverter; otherwise the inverter may be damaged.
(1) Do not leave any conductive material such as metal in the inverter
after maintenance; otherwise, the inverter may be damaged.
(2) If the inverter is reused after a long time, it is necessary to charge
the internal capacitors of the inverter. Use the voltage regulator to
slowly increase the input voltage of the inverter (can not be higher than
the rated input voltage of the inverter); otherwise, an accident may
occur.

◆ Input power
Please supply power for the inverter according to the specifications provided in
this Manual.
◆ Air circuit breaker
(1) Cut off power supply of the inverter;
(2) Cut off power supply when short circuit occurs on power input side or
overcurrent occurs on downstream devices.
◆ AC reactor on input side
Control current surge due to grid voltage jump and switching overvoltage, smooth
spike pulse in supply voltage or voltage defect produced during phase change of
bridge rectifier circuit, effectively protect the inverter and improve power factor, it
can eliminate the interface from the grid and reduce the electric network pollution
caused by harmonic current produced by rectification unit.
◆ Contactor
Switch ON/OFF the inverter, do not use it to directly power on/off or start the
inverter frequently.
◆ Reactor on output side
It mainly can compensate for the impact of distributed capacitance in a long run
(20-200m), decrease earth leakage current of motor, inhibit harmonic current,
improve high-frequency impedance, effectively suppress dv/dt. It decrease high-
frequency leakage current to protect the inverter and reduce the noise.
◆ Braking resistor
Improve the braking capacity of inverter to prevent overvoltage warning.

√ No phase sequence is required for power supply wiring on input side of inverter;
√ Main circuit terminals should be wired after copper conductor is properly selected
according to the specifications shown in Table 3-1 and the method should comply with
local regulations and relevant IEC standards;
√ The cable between inverter and motor should not be parallel to power cable as far as
possible and should be at least 30cm;
√ It is prohibited to connect other devices with input side of inverter supply, it is strictly
prohibited to connect output terminals (U, V, W) with power supply, and do not connect
an capacitor or surge absorber on output side.
√ A non-fuse breaker must be installed between input power and inverter to prevent
extension of accident, if any, due to inverter fault, damage to power distribution unit or
fire;
√ There is no braking resistor inside the inverter, so a braking resistor must be installed
in case of large load inertia or frequent start-stop. When external braking module is
selected, the cable should not be more than 10m and the wiring distance should not be
more than 5m;
√ The ground terminal (PE) of inverter must be grounded reliably, the resistance of
ground wire muse be less than 0.4Ω, ground terminal (PE) should not be used as zero
terminal (N);
√ The specifications of ground wire are shown in the table below:

2.Communication mode
◆ S1 series inverter uses Modbus protocol andRTU message transmission mode and
support common read and writing of register command. Its frame format is as shown
in the figure below:
MODBUSData frame
start (at least 3.5 idle characters) slave address Command code data check code end (at least 3.5 idle characters)

2. 3 D ata
S1 series inverter’s Modbus communication data is divided into three categories,
register address, register number (or byte number) and specific value of register.
Data is in 16 system format(except byte number during writing) and is represented
with two bytes, low bytes following high bytes.
MODBUS addressing
◆ Mapping relationship between parameter function code and inner
Modbus register of S1 series inverter.
S1 series inverter’s parameter function code is mapped into Modbus reading
and writing register. The rules: parameter function code×100 =M×256+N+1,
represented in decimal system, of which0≤N≤255
Register address High byte low byte
For example:
Calculate Modbus register address of parameterP04.01
4.01×100 = 1×256+144+1, and thenM = 1, N = 144, convert to 16 system and
gain high byte 01H and low byte90H, that is, register address is0190H, Modbus
register address of each parameter is shown in each group of menu table.
9
◆ Corresponding relationship between parameter function code
and standard MODBUS address
MODBUS protocol
For example:
Corresponding MODBUS address of parameter P04.01: 4.01×100+40000=40401
75
S1 Series Vector Inverter
2 .4 Check code
CRC-16 is used for data check, content of entire message is checked, the high byte
and low byte of checksum should be sent after exchange.
Please see the following example for specific CRC check.
CRC check
CRC check is 16-bit Cyclic redundancy check, standard CRC-16 multi nominal
x16+x15+x2+1 is used. Add 16-bit CRC to a message and send LSB at first, CRC is
calculated through all bytes in the frame.

MODBUS protocol
When users use communication control method to control the running inverter, if
press STOP to stop the inverter, the value ofcommunication control wordP03.27
will not change, suggesting that P03.27 must be reset and then a new control word
should be written to restart the inverter.
