Dangers of Covid-19
The coronavirus was responsible for the Covid-19 pandemic. It is an
infectious disease that has affected millions of people’s lives. The
pandemic has impacted people all across the world in diverse ways. It was
first discovered in Wuhan, China, in 2019. However, the World Health
Organization (WHO) proclaimed it a pandemic in March 2020, claiming that it
has spread throughout the globe like wildfire. The pandemic has claimed the
lives of millions of people. The virus had negative consequences for those
who were infected, including the development of a variety of chronic
disorders. The main symptoms of this disease were loss of smell and taste,
fatigue, pale skin, sneezing, coughing, oxygen deficiency, etc. Because
Covid-19 was an infectious disease, all those who were infected were
instructed to segregate themselves from those who were not. The folks who
were affected were separated from their families and locked in a room. The
government has prioritised people’s safety. The frontline personnel were
like superheroes, working tirelessly to ensure the public’s safety. For the
sake of their patients’ and close relatives’ safety, many doctors had to
stay away from their families and babies. The government had also taken
significant steps and implemented different protocols for the protection of
people.
Dowery System
Dowry is the activity taken place at the time of marriage when the bride’s
family transfers wealth to the groom’s family in the form of cash, movable
properties, or immovable properties. The existence of the dowry system is
hard to trace, but it has long existed in India. The dowry system brings a
dark cloud above the heads of the bride’s family. Fathers of young girls
fear the day of their daughter’s marriage and save money for that
particular day. In the northern part of India, the dowry system is quite
more prevalent, along with casteism. Dowry is nothing but a nightmare for
women. Every woman goes through the ugly phase, where she is made to feel
like she is a liability. The country is continuously fighting against the
dowry system. Various NGOs have come forward and raised the issue by
spreading awareness among the population. The beautiful gesture of
providing a helping hand towards the newly wedded has taken an ugly
turn.Dowry is a punishable crime, and anyone who is, by any means, tries to
support or even hide the truth will have to face legal consequences. Both
the parties, the giver and taker, of dowry will be punished under the Dowry
Prohibition Act, 1961.

Bangladesh is an independent country that gained independence in 1971 with
a brutal war against Pakistan. It was known as East Pakistan at that time
and it was a part of mainland Pakistan. Pakistan got independence in 1947
and Bangladesh got independence on 16 December 1971. On 16 December, the
Pakistani army surrendered and that’s why this date is called it victory
day of Bangladesh. It is a national holiday. There are only a few
celebrations in Bangladesh that comes with so much excitement and
celebration. People of every age come to celebrate this day. After the war
of nine-month and sacrificing so many lives, we achieved independence. All
of the schools and colleges arrange so many types of competitions. Students
participate in debates, dances, music, and sports competitions. Then they
arrange a prize-giving ceremony. The teacher shares the glorious story of
independence on this day. People of Bangladesh remember all the martyrs in
this day who sacrificed their lives to make this a free country. This
country has been achieved after a very hard battle. That’s why Victory Day
of Bangladesh is highly important in Bengali life. It has so much
importance. Every kid and student should learn about this history of
victory day.
Digital Bangladesh
Digital Bangladesh is a much-talked slogan of the present government of
Bangladesh. Digital Bangladesh means a technology-based prosperous country
where computers will be widely used. All economic activities of the country
will be monitored or controlled by the computer via the internet. The
benefits of digital Bangladesh are many. If we can establish digital
Bangladesh, corruption will be drastically reduced by enhancing
transparency and accountability. It will make people think globally and
connect themselves with the whole world economically, politically,
socially, academically, and even culturally. It will improve banking and
financial activities. Agriculture, health, education, commerce all the
sectors will be highly benefited by making Bangladesh a digital one. For
translating the dream of Digital Bangladesh into reality, the government
has to take certain initiatives. First of all, an uninterrupted power
supply has to be ensured. We have to develop computer network
infrastructures throughout the country. We also have to train our people to
acquire the skill and ensure equitable access to digital governance
services for all strata of the society. Finally, our education should be
computer-based and in primary and secondary schools students should get
easy access to the computer. It will be no ambition if we say that the
implementation of a digital Bangladesh can help us to uphold ourselves as
one of the developed countries in the world by the next decade.
Drug addiction means a strong attraction to take any kind of harmful drug
to get exciting feelings. Normally it is formed as a bad habit of using
non-prescribed medicine. Opium, Heroin, Morphine, Yaba, Phensidyl, etc. are
the main drugs taken in our country. There are many reasons for this.
Firstly, frustration is responsible for drug addiction. Secondly, lack of
family ties is also responsible for it. Thirdly, failure in love cause
addiction. Besides, a bad companion also helps one to form this habit.
There are many bad impacts of drug addiction. Drugs create some kind of
dreamlike feelings and the drug taker forgets everything for some moments
and lives in a world of hallucination. It causes a lot of harm not only to
the addicts but also to the society and nation. Drugs tell upon the human
body terribly. The addicts feel drowsy and their nervous system gradually
becomes weak causing damage to their brain. Drugs lead the addict to decay
and death. When the addict fails to arrange money to buy drugs, he commits
various kinds of social crimes and becomes dependent on others. Now the
problem is going out of control day by day. Both the government and non-
government agencies should come forward to increase awareness of this.
Parents may cure their addicted son and daughter and help them to live
happy and peaceful life in society.
Adolescence
Food Adulteration
Food adulteration is basically changing the true quality of pure foods by
adding chemical additives. It spans from adding mild chemical preservatives
to extremely harmful substances. Be it poultry, fruits, spices, and even
daily bakery items; everything is getting adulterated nowadays. The reason
for adding preservatives to the food is obvious: to get more profit out of
the scope. And that is why it is getting out of control only because of the
endless green of dishonest and immoral businessman. Chemical additives are
added to increase their shelf life. The longer a product stays in good
quality, the more it is easier to sell off to innocent customers. For
example, mango is a perishable food. In each year, thousands of tons of
mango get produced in the summer, and to make sure that all mangoes are
sold before it gets perished, businessmen add substances like formalin to
prevent the perishing. Not only this, but fruits also get injected with
substances like Carbide, one of the most harmful chemicals for the human
body, to look ripe and attractive to customers. Sugary water or color water
gets injected in fruits to make it taste better. Harmful chemical colors
get added in regular foods like spices, milk gets water added to increase
the quantity. Poultry farms feed harmful things to animals in order to
increase their size and to sell in bigger quantity thereafter. Not only
that, but pricey products also get mixed with disguising elements to
increase the quantity and to get more profit out. This heinous activity is
getting out of control is that there are not enough strict government
restrictions and implementations. Also, identifying foods with additives is
not very easy throughout the country. As harmful substances like DDT,
Aldrin, Formalin, Chlordane, etc are available, even micro-level sellers
are being able to poison foods. Mobile courts roam in the streets to
identify and punish the sellers, but unless the span of searching
increases, it is impossible to uproot the criminals from their cores. Then
again, many sellers offer foods with no harmful additives, and as such,
they do require increasing the price a bit. But people from a middle-income
country like Bangladesh will never be willing to pay an additional amount
of money to avoid things as such. Consuming harmful chemicals on a low
scale may not have any impact soon, but they will be the reason for serious
physical damage and diseases like cancer, lung diseases, kidney failures,
etc sooner or later. Many of our people are under the poverty line, and
most are unaware of the dangerous and long-lasting effects this has. So
making them aware of such events will not make them willing enough to buy
pure goods at a high price. This is exactly the point the selfish
businessmen are getting their additional profit from.
A book Fair
The book fair has a long tradition. It has grown to be a tradition in
Bangladesh. It is held on every occasion and all across the country.
February is the best month for book fairs. This is the most beautiful and
famous book fair. In memory of the Language Movement martyrs, it is held at
the Bangla Academy throughout February. There are many other book fairs
throughout the country, including "Ekushey Boli Mela." A book fair is a key
to building a cultured and more educated nation. Many stalls of all sizes
are set up at a book fair. They are filled to the brim with thousands of
books. They are beautifully decorated. The bookstalls are well-arranged and
furnished. Many book lovers from many cultures and tastes visit book fairs
every year. Book fairs are also a popular destination for poets and
writers. A book fair is a perfect place for book lovers. This is the ideal
place to meet your favorite authors. Book fairs are a great place to buy
lots of books. Public reading is also possible at a book fair. A book fair
allows new writers to launch their books, which can help them gain more
attention. Book fairs can be more than just a place to sell and buy books.
They are also a place that holds exceptional cultural value. There are many
stalls selling DVDs of music. These include Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul
Geeti. Other than books, some stalls display them at book fairs. A book
fair can also have stalls selling food. These food stalls offer traditional
snacks. To help their children become more familiar with their culture,
parents can bring their children to a book fair. Book fairs can be a great
way to learn about your country's culture, history, traditions, and
customs. Book fairs often feature a variety of books. There are many books
to choose from, including books for children, cookbooks, history books,
popular novels, and books in other languages. Some book fairs organize
cultural programs and different types of exhibitions. A book fair's primary
purpose is to sell books and provide rare opportunities to examine the
progress made in book publishing. It also helps to attract new readers and
writers. Book fairs are a great way to encourage the habit of reading
books. This reminds us that books can be man's best friend. They gave us
new perspectives on life, broadened our horizons, and increased our
knowledge. In the evening, book fairs are often crowded. People of all ages
and statuses visit book fairs on weekends and other holidays. It's a great
way to get away from the monotony of daily life.
Mujib Borsho
Mujib Borsho has been declared by the government marking the 100th
anniversary of the birth of the Father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman. He was born on 17 March 1920 in the Gopalganj Mohokuma. His
father’s name was Sheikh Lutfur Rahman and mother’s name was Sayera Khatun.
He was an intelligent boy from his childhood. He took his primary and
secondary education in Gopalganj. After that, he got admitted to Kolkata
Islamic College and achieved a B.A. degree in 1947. The country was then
under British colonial rule and the oppressors were looting the resources
of this country. He raised his voice against the oppression of the regime.
In 1947, the Indian subcontinent was divided into two countries named as
India and Pakistan. Our motherland was referred to as East Pakistan but it
was far away from its west counterpart. After the division, this country
was again being oppressed by the West Pakistani rulers. Sheikh Mujib
protested to this and became the villain in the eye of West Pakistani
oppressors. He had to face jail several times for serving his country’s
purpose. Finally, the West Pakistani rules planned a genocide to stop the
voice of this country. Though they conducted a general election in 1970, in
which Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman achieve the majority vote but
wasn’t been able to form the government. This also fired the cartridge
among the people of East Pakistan. On 7 March 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman gave a speech in front of millions of people which encourage
the people of East Pakistan to fight for their liberation. This was the
turning point of the people’s eagerness for the ultimate independence from
the West Pakistani oppressors. Bangladesh gained its victory after nine
months of bloody war against the Pakistani Military Force. After the
liberation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu started his work to enrich Bangladesh
in Finance and other aspects. But he wasn’t been able to perform his
actions as he was murdered along with his family on 15 August 1975. This
was one of the saddest incidents in the history of Bangladesh. But still,
we remember him as the father of the nation and will be remembered forever.
Govt has declared his 100th birth year as the Mujib Borsho and will be
celebrated with the utmost respect. His life and struggle will always teach
us to work for the betterment of the people of our country.
Early Marriage
Early marriage, child marriage, or premature marriage refers to the
marriage of a girl or boy before the age of 18. There are many reasons
behind early or premature marriage in Bangladesh. Firstly, lack of
education is the main reason for early marriage. Secondly, traditional and
religious views are also responsible for this. Thirdly, the insecurity of
girls causes early marriage. Parents marry their sons off to get dowry from
the in-law’s home. Girl’s parents are unwilling to educate their daughters.
They think that girls are born to do household work in-law’s home. That is
why they think it is better to marry their daughters as early as possible.
There are many bad impacts on child marriage. Child marriage violates
children’s rights and puts them at high risk of abuse, violence, and
exploitation. The persons who get premature marriage suffer a lot in the
long run. People, especially in rural areas, tend to marry their sons and
daughters off earlier than the expected time. Marrying at such premature
age. Boys suffer a lot because they have to work hard to run a family. On
the other hand, girls suffer even more. They have to risk their lives
during premature childbirth. We should realize the bad consequence of
premature marriage. The government and the common people must come forward
to stop this evil system. Social awareness should be raised among the
people.
Gender Discrimination
Gender discrimination means making a difference between men and women.
Especially in third-world countries, women are considered inferior to men.
Though they have merits and capabilities, they are not given what they
deserve. They work in the family and outside the family, but their
contribution is not seen. There are many reasons for gender discrimination.
Firstly, the lack of education is responsible for this. Secondly,
superstition is also responsible. Thirdly, the social view causes the
problem. Women should enjoy equal rights and positions to men but men try
to dominate women. The female children are thought the burden of the
family. They are not given equal opportunities for education, equal food,
and clothes. There are many bad impacts of gender discrimination. If we
neglect the female, our half of the population will remain idle at home.
Our social and national development is never possible keeping them idle at
home. This is a great problem which must be solved. At first, the
government should come forward to change the situation. We should make
public awareness of the matter. Mass media can play an important role in
raising public awareness. We should change our attitude about women and
never try to make a difference between boys and girls.
An Ideal Student
One who learns reads and writes and knows all. He goes to an educational
institute and is called a student. A student who prepares his lessons
regularly and adequately and avoids all that stands in the way of study is
called an ideal student. An excellent student should be academic. This is
his foremost duty. A perfect student must generally behave well. An
outstanding student must be truthful and honest. He Is obedient to his
superiors. He also avoids so-called student politics and all kinds of bad
habits. His five-time prayers should be like time. As he is a citizen of
the country, he should love his country and be ready to dedicate his life
to the welfare of his country. An ideal student participates in co-
curricular activities. Lie also participates in games and sports. He should
play in the playground at the proper time. He always makes good use of
time. He should not waste his precious time by gossiping. He should take
care of his health. A sound body develops a healthy mind, which helps him
improve in life. He never shirks his duty. His goal is to be great in life.
He abides by the rules of discipline in all aspects of life. An idea! The
student Is not indifferent to his duties to society. He helps the poor,
teaches Illiterate people, and serves distressed people. If an ideal
student performs his duties properly for the country's sake, he will become
the nation's pride.
