1.)

1.Programs and data to be processed must be in the a) internal memory.

2. The control unit a) sends instructions from the program.
3. The results of arithmetic operations are returned to the c) accumulator for transferring
to main storage.
4. The instruction to be c) read out in control unit is read  from primary storage into the
storage register.
5. The c) comparer performs logical comparisons of the contents of the storage register
and the b) accumulator.
6. The read out command is passed from the c) storage register to the a) instruction
register.
7. CPU is designed to a) control and to c) carry out basic instructions for the computer.
8. CU and ALU consist of electronic circuits with millions of c) switches .

2.)

1. CPU - g) controls the flow between the primary storage and the arithmetic logical unit
2. CU - d) coordinates the operation of the whole system
3. ALU - a) performs the processing operations
4. accumulator - i) holds the results of processing operations
5. clock - 0) produces electronic marks at regular intervals
6. counter - e) selects data from memory
7. register - h) keeps the instruction while it is being performed
8. decoder - j) breaks the instructions into separate commands
9. comparer - b) carries out logical comparisons of storage
10. adder - с) executes basic arithmetic functions.

10.)
1. As it is known, the two functional units of the CPU are the control unit (CU) and
the arithmetic-logical unit (ALU).
2. The control unit manages and coordinates the entire computer system.
3. It obtains instructions from the pro gram stored in main memory, interprets the
instructions, and issues signals that cause other units of the system to execute
them. The control unit operates by reading one instruction at a time from memory
and taking the action called for by each instruction. In this way it controls the flow
between the main storage and the arithmetic-logical unit.
4. Select the instructions, one at a time, from memory
5. Takes the coded instruction and breaks it down into individual commands
necessary to carry it out
6. The next instruc tion to be executed is read out from primary storage into the
storage register. The instruction is passed from the storage register to the
instruction register. Then the operation part of the instruction is decoded so that
the proper arith metic or logical operation can be performed. The address of the
operand is sent from the instruction register to the address register. At last the
instruc tion counter register provides the address register with the address ofthe
next instruction to be executed.
7. The arithmetic-logic unit (AL U) executes the processing operations called for by
the instructions brought from main memory by the control unit. Binary arithmetic,
the logical operations, and some special functions are performed by the
arithmetical-logical unit
8. The primary components of the arithmetic-logical unit are banks of bistable
devices, which are called registers.
9. The results of arithmetic operations are returned to the accumulator for transfer to
main storage through the storage register. The comparer per forms logical
comparisons of the contents of the storage register and the accumulator

A rather young man was shot dead in front of his own house.  It all happened in Milan.
The man's name was Smeraldo Figlia.  He was about 37 years old, he could soon be 38,
but this will not happen.  They shot at him right next to his own house, a few meters
away.  It turned out that earlier the man stole $500,000 from ordinary residents for the
construction of a house that was never completed.  The unfortunate citizens hired a hit
man and killed the swindler.
