PARADIGM
I. Nursing- nurse is totally responsible for patients care and teaching of their patients.
II. Person- patient achieve their maximal potential through learning process. People behave basis
of their feeling not on the basis of their knowledge. Their are two type of feeling - known
feeling and feeling out of awareness.
III. Environment- hospital are organised to accomplish tasks efficiently. According to her
professional nurse can function as practical doctors.
IV. Individual- Hall emphasise on importance of individual as unique, capable of growth and
learning and total person approach.
APPLICATION OF LYDIA HALL THEORY -
Suppose their is a patient Mr. raj, 30 yr old, married, engineer and admitted to hospital in
orthopaedic ward. He had a fall and has fracture of neck of head of (L) femur bone. He is on plaster
cast.
According to Lydia Hall theory , he is in second stage of illness. As fracture is being taken care by
plaster cast, the acute phase is over
