also the brief demands a temporary Cedar thrives in damp climates, enabling it to
structure. withstand many conditions. Cedar doesn't

materiality. shrink, swell, warp, or decay even when there are

severe changes in weather, which makes it such
an ideal choice for exterior siding. Cedar is sound

water repellent paint the ability to absorb noise.

surrounding context:
closely packed houses in an
urban context also tokyo landscape is
mountainous which relates to the concept.

As the surrounding houses close in, we set

back the outer wall and lowered the roof
as if to counter the smallness of the house.

the client here is a sort of person who lives

a urban lifestyle and both of them are full
time workers and spends very less time
at house.thus this home is designed such
that there are less space for leisure . there
is this terrace like space with no
assigned function but is accessible if
needed with a ladder and sliding space utilisation strategies

history .
the traditional house of japan are made with
wooden frames ,and are elevated off the ground
and had sloping roofs .
Timber frame structures connections and bracings.
It provides better flexibility than the most rigid
brickwork or concrete systems. Timber frame
houses can absorb and dissipate energy in case
of earthquakes or other natural disasters

3,800 earthquakes with a recording of 3.0 – 3.9 occur per year, and around 900 with a magnitude of 4.0 – 4.9.
4.0–4.9 light felt by all; minor breakage of objects
3.0–3.9 minor felt by many people; no damage
