Since its humble beginnings as a computer training center with only two campuses on August 21,
1983, STI has grown to encompass ICT-enhanced programs in Information Technology, Business
and Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Engineering, and Arts and Sciences. It all
started when four visionaries came up with the notion of establishing a training school to suit
extremely specific labor requirements. In the early 1980s, Augusto C. Lagman, Herman T. Gamboa,
Benjamin A. Santos, and Edgar H. Sarte formed the Systems Technology Institute (STI), a training
school that provides basic programming instruction to professionals and students interested in
acquiring this new skill. After numerous brainstorming sessions, the founders came up with the
name Systems Technology Institute, maybe influenced by Sarte's preference for three-letter
acronyms from the firms he was managing at the time. On August 21, 1983, the first two schools
opened in Buendia, Makati, and Espaa, Manila, offering basic computer programming lessons.
Because they had a unique and great product, it was simple to expand the franchise through the
founders' business ties. A year after the first two schools opened, the brand expanded to include
STI Binondo, Cubao, and Taft. STI's push has pierced straight into the heart of the internationally
competitive market. It has transcended beyond ICT and beyond education, addressing the demand
for job-ready graduates. It has come a long way since its inception. The STI brand differentiated
itself with a unique value proposition: "First we'll teach you, then we'll hire you." Through its
unique Guaranteed Hire Program (GHP), all qualifying graduates were given positions by one of
the founders' firms or through their contacts in the sector.
We are an institution devoted to providing knowledge through the creation and implementation

devotion, transparency, and ingenuity.
2. What is Enrollment to Employment (E2E) System? What is its significance to the students of STI?
The E2E System is a comprehensive human resource development system that seeks to build ICT-
enabled professionals through innovative learning and career planning approaches. STI students
benefit from the E2E system by receiving relevant education, job market skills, job readiness, and
job placement aid.
