Project CC01
Project CC01
December 5, 2021
• The project problem: From the data on Covid-19 (get it from here), let’s
tell an interesting story under the form of a short video (length between
5 minutes to 20 minutes).
• Further instructions:
– From the data, you can tell whatever story that might entertain a
general audience. You can research material from outside resources
and put that into the video. Some basic things that you may come
up with are plotting and analyzing graphs (things of Calculus 1).
You can implement any tool that you are comfortable to use such as
Matlab, Mathematica, Maple, Python, ... . There are a lot of videos
on the internet having content related to Covid-19, for example here.
They may serve as references for your video. You don’t need to tell a
complicated story using sophisticated software. You can tell a simple
yet valuable story. For example, have a look at this video where the
presenter gave a very interesting and clear demonstration using old
technology from 15 years ago.
– You are required to handle the data on your own. You are not allowed
to copy represented data from different video sources. At the end of
your video, you need to include the build-up (behind the scenes) of
your video, where you let the audience get an inside look at how you
created that representation. In this build-up part, each member in
your group can also introduce yourself and your contribution to the
work of your group. This part may go via a zoom meeting like this.
Therefore there are two parts in your video (total length between 5-
to-20 minutes): the first part is the representation (the story only),
and the second part is the behind the scenes.
– Students work in groups. You can create your own group with a
maximum of 5 students. It is also possible to have a group of only
one student.
You need to send me your group information using the form: click
here. Only a representative of each group submits this form. You
need to access the form using your @hcmut email. The form will be
closed at 7PM on 9 December.

For students who cannot make a group and don’t want to create a
group of one student, you can fill out the form: click here. You need
to access the form using your @hcmut email. The form will be closed
at 7PM on 9 December.
– How to submit your project? Answer: Your video needs to be sub-
mitted before 05-January 2022. A submission form will be given
before 26-December.
– Do we need to do anything else apart from the video submission?
Answer: No. The video is the only output for the project.
• Feel free to ask any questions related to the project.
