Activity: Answer the following
1. Discuss the characteristics of an adolescent and its developmental tasks.
 Adolescent is where the transition of age from childhood to adulthood when sex
maturation and rapid physical development occur resulting to change in ways of feeling,
thinking, and acting. Some developmental tasks of adolescent are achieving mature
relations with both sexes, achieving a masculine or feminine role, accepting one’s
physique, achieving emotional and many more. These tasks in the developmental stages
needs to be achieved in order to perform other tasks or prepare an individual with the
next stage of one’s life.
2. How can adolescents be prepared for adult life?
 An adolescent can be prepared for adulthood in a variety of ways. One of these is
responsible for developmental tasks. This means that an adolescent gradually assumes
more responsibility and tasks than an adult does. Among the tasks that can be delegated
are paying bills, making food, decisions for the household, and taking care of siblings. By
completing these tasks, the adolescent prepares for the challenges of adulthood.
3. Is accomplishing various developmental tasks according to developmental stages
let you prepare for adult life? In what ways?
 Yes, because the developmental stages talk about the tasks that each individual needs to
develop, improve and finish to go to the next level of developmental tasks.
4. Can you identify or list at least 5 ways to become responsible adolescent
prepared for adult life?
 Maturity, independent, discipline, responsible and confidence.
