    The following points must be observed before updating.
    • The Volkswagen brand CD from V. 12.86.00 as well as the basic CD version 12.00 or higher have to be
    installed.
    • Make sure that a battery charger is connected to the vehicle battery.
    Workshops which have a networked VAS diagnostic tester can run an online update of the control unit using
    SVM (software version management). To find out the calendar week* from which the software is available online,
    refer to the column Online from week*.
    You will also receive the software with the Update DVD (includes only the software). To find out the CD from
    which the software is available, refer to the column from DVD. Even with the DVD an online connection is
    necessary (insert DVD and start update via SVM).
    The procedure for updating is described in the guided fault finding instructions under function/component
    selection or in the guided functions.
