During the working week, the city of Bogota, Colombia, has 1,600,000
cars, 50,000 taxis, 9,000 buses and 500,000 motorcycles, but every Sunday,
the city closes 75 miles of highways to motorized vehicles, so Bogotanos
they have to leave their cars at home, but instead ride their bikes, roller
blades, scooters, wheelchairs, and skateboards.
And they walk!

2. what can you do at a fun stop

At one stop, you can hear musicians playing Creole music, Andean music,
Afro-Peruvian music, etc. and at another stop there is marinera dance,
scissors dance, Peruvian morenada, huayno. In addition, there is food and
delicious, the paraditas and all kinds of art that we find for the fun stop.

3. why does bibiana sarmiento think Ciclovia is a good idea do

you agree with her?

It is a great idea, so the city stops having so many vehicles in its path and
gives way to humans to walk on the tracks, to transport themselves on
skateboards, bicycles, scooters, etc. The bike path is the moment when
motor vehicles give way to human beings, citizens take over the public
space of the city'.
“GOAL CHECK”

Every 3 times a year the roads are completely paralyzed, so a cycling

marathon is held where cyclists travel a 40-kilometer trail through 4 cities
(Nuevo Chimbote, Chimbote, Coishco, Santa). Starting in the main square
of Nuevo Chimbote and culminating in the Santa bridge, venturing along
the entire Pan-American highway from South to North, where the Pan-
American highway becomes a bike path for a day.

Along the way you can see some attractions, in Nuevo Chimbote you can
see a cast of marinera, when you get to Chimbote you can see a wide
variety of restaurants where their specialty is ceviche, when you go through
a tunnel to get to Coishco Se you can see that people position themselves
around the bike path to encourage cyclists to continue their journey and
finally in Santa you can see a group of Creole musicians playing with great
rhythmic harmony.
And a few kilometers away is the end of the route, where you will see the
Santa bridge.

Mayor Branco Estefano Francisco De La Cruz Villegas said that:

This tremendous event is held 3 times a year (every 4 months), in order to
reduce a little environmental pollution caused by carbon dioxide ejected by
motor vehicles (cars, vans, buses, motorcycles, etc.) through of the exhaust
pipe. And funds are also raised; where these are distributed and donated to
these 4 cities, to support vulnerable peoples.
