Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan

“ Pronouns”

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
 Define Pronouns.
 Apply Pronouns in each sentence.
 Give examples of Pronouns
 Express pronouns correctly in a sentence
 Play a game called “Catch I’m falling for you” using Pronouns
 Appreciate the Filipino icons and tourists spots in the Philippines.

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Pronouns
Reference: English for Better Communication 5 by Romuel C. Domingo and Rosario
P. Samson, pages 64-73
Materials: Laptop, DLP, whiteboard and whiteboard marker

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
 Daily Routine
 Greetings
 Opening Prayer
 Checking of attendance and proper uniform
 Cleaning the room
B. Motivation
The teacher will show pictures of Filipino icons and famous
tourists’ spots in the Philippines then the students will infer some thoughts
about the pictures.

The teacher will ask the following questions:
1. How are you feeling today?
2. How many are you in this classroom?
3. Who is the man wearing gloves?
4. Who won Miss Universe 2018?
5. Where can you find Chocolate hills?
 The teacher will underline all the pronouns.
 The teacher will ask the students to read the underlined words and ask
them if they have any idea on the underlined words. The teacher will
reveal the lesson. “Our lesson for today is all about nominative pronouns.”

1. Generalization
 What are pronouns?
 Pronouns- are words use to replace nouns.
 How do we use pronouns?
 Pronouns- are used to avoid repeating the same nouns over
and over again.

1.Mrs.Mercado is our new teacher.
She is our new teacher.
2.Arnold is my best friend.
He is my best friend.
3. My sister and I are having an early dinner.
We are having an early dinner.
4. The food is delicious
It is delicious.

4. Application
The teacher will provide a ball and the students will pass it randomly with a
playing music and the student who is holding the when the music stops he/she
will give an example using pronouns.

IV. Evaluation
 The students will answer the following sentences on ½ sheet of paper
A. Direction: Give a pronoun to take a place of the underlined words
1. Arnold jogged around the village.
2. The woman cried loudly.
3. This bag is heavy.
4. Rosie and I joined the group.

V. Assignment
Recall your strangest dream you ever had. Write it about in 5-10 sentences
using pronouns. Write it on 1 whole yellow pad and will be submitted on next
meeting.
