Section A: Questions 1 to 10 (5 marks each)

1) Sister is 20 years old and Brother is 18 years old. 17 years later, how many years is Sister
elder than Brother?

2) The teacher told Yannia and Mickey, “The sum of your marks in the quiz is 183. Yannia has
5 more marks than Mickey.” “I know my score now.” Yannia replies. What is Yannia’s score?

3) There is an n-sided prism with 36 edges. Find the value of n.

5) Find the value of 998  997 .

6) The average score of Mickey’s Chinese and English is 77. The average score of his Maths
and English is 90. The average score of his Maths and Chinese is 85. So what is the average
scores for Mickey’s three subjects?

7) Find the value of 2018  107  56  2018  2018  49 .

8) Two persons, namely A and B, run on a 325-metre long circular path. They start running at
the same time and place at the speeds of 6 metres per second and 1 metre per second
respectively. So how many seconds later will they meet next time?

9) Olly has some candies in the beginning. On the first day he eats half of the candies. On the
second day he eats 20 candies. On the third day he eats half of the candies and 18 candies
are left. How many candies does Olly have in the beginning?

10) “Happy Zoo” has some ostriches and giraffes. They have 20 eyes and 32 legs in total. How
many giraffes are there?

used repeatedly)?

13) The figure is formed by 4 same rectangles. The area of the bigger square is 144 square
centimetres. How many centimetres is the perimeter of a rectangle?

14) The number of gaming cards Udy has is 3 times of Shing. The number of gaming cards
Martin has is 5 times of Udy. Given that the total number of gaming cards Shing and Martin
have is 1001 more than Udy, so how many gaming cards does Udy have?

15) If 26 B789 is divisible by 13, find the value of B.

16) In the afternoon of last Tuesday, Mickey, Kenny, Lily and Fanny met each other in the park.
If Mickey goes to the park in the afternoon every 2 days, Kenny goes to the park every 3
days, Lily goes to the park every 4 days, Fanny goes to the park every 5 days. So how many
days later will the four people meet together on Tuesday?

17) Class 4A is separated into several groups during PE lesson. Each group has 5 people. Class
4B is separated into 1 group fewer than Class 4A but each group has 6 people. Given that
the number of students in Class 4A is 1 fewer than that of Class 4B. How many students
does Class 4B have?
