Student had unsatisfactory course progress last term. As part of Course Progress Intervention, meeting was
arranged with the student to explain the course progress policies including the student’s obligations.
Student’s explanation for unsatisfactory course progress
The student has just finished his first term and failed the subjects of the term. Student has been warned on course
progress plus attendance and was advised on attending classes regularly and completing assessments. The
student mentioned that it is first term was unsure about strict rules on class attendance and course progress. The
student has been advised to take reassessments for two subjects in order to meet the course progress for the term.
2.2 Based upon the feedback provided by the student, course progress has been reviewed and student has been
advised on a new course plan.
Do reassessment for failed subjects and submit assessments by the due date. Extension for submissions must be
requested by email. Details of the assessments, due dates with instructions, and resources will
be emailed by the trainer. This email communication from the trainer to the student will be recorded and Course
Coordinator will also be CCéd in this communication.
Re-enrol and repeat the failed subjects from Level V when offered to meet course progress requirements. Student
must complete the lower qualification either by re-enrolment or reassessment prior to continuing to higher
qualification.
Student will only be enrolled next term if the student has demonstrated an active attempt at resolving course
progress issues.
2.3 Following Intervention Strategies will be implemented which is tailored to suit the student needs and has been
agreed by the student:
Monitor Course Progress – Monitoring of students who may be at risk of not completing the course within the
expected duration, and/or are not achieving satisfactory course progress.
Student has been advised of a new course plan
Mentoring by the supervising trainer
Meet informally with teacher on a regular basis
Student will be provided feedback on a formative assessment task as early as possible, usually midway in the
teaching period, to identify and support students at risk of making unsatisfactory progress
