Tutorial 2: Orthographic Projections

1. The figures (a) and (b) below are isometric drawings of simple blocks. Using a scale of 1:1,
draw three orthographic views (front view (A), right-end view (B) and plan (top view) of
the components:
i. block (a) in first angle projection.
ii. block (b) in third angle projection.
Dimension your drawings fully. [38 Marks]

2. The figure below is an isometric drawing of a bracket. Using a scale of 1:1, draw three
orthographic views (front view, top view and left-end view) of the component in first angle
projection. The front view must be taken in the direction of arrow A and left-end view in
the direction of arrow B. Dimension your drawings fully. [38 Marks]

3. Draw a full sectional view of the drawing with the cutting plane passing through the centre
of the component, and viewed normally in the direction of arrow A as shown. Dimension
your drawing fully. [12 Marks]
