Small weights are measured in g and large weights Length
are measured in kg. Inch, Foot, Yard
1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 foot = 12 inches
h Measuring units of capacity are mL and L.
1 yard = 36 inches
Small capacity are measured in mL and large Weight
capacity are measured in L. Ounce, Pound, Ton

h Convert : 11 L 585 mL into L. Weight of fruits Ravi bought
11 L 585 mL = 11 L + 585 mL = 3 kg 315 g = 3.315 kg
585

h If the length of two clothes are 18 m 50 cm and water left in the tank after 1 day?
15 m 20 cm respectively, then the total length of
Quantity of water in tank = 15000 L
both clothes are:
18 m 50 cm + 15 m 20 cm Quantity of water each student drinks in 1 day
= 18.50 m + 15.20 m = 5000 mL = 5 L
= 33.70 m or 33 m 70 cm Number of students in college = 800
h Rohit bought 4 kg 520 g of fruits and Ravi bought 3 Quantity of water used by students in 1 day
kg 315 g of fruits. How much more weight of fruits
= 800 × 5 = 4000 L
did Rohit buy than Ravi?
Weight of fruits Rohit bought So, amount of water left in the tank
= 4 kg 520 g = 4.520 kg = (15000 – 4000) L = 11000 L

1. (D) : Required difference = (540 – 450) cm = 90 cm = (8915 + 57210 – 32120) mL
= (66125 – 32120) mL
2. (B) : 5 cm 7 mm = 50 mm + 7 mm = 57 mm

Also, X + Y + Z = 920 mL = 21800 – Weight of 60 apples
X = 21800 – (60 × 350) = 21800 – 21000 = 800 g
⇒ X + + X – 20 = 920 (ii) Weight of (basket + 18 apples) = 800 + (18 × 350)
2
= (800 + 6300) g = 7100 g
5 940 × 2
⇒ X = 940  ⇒  X = = 376 mL 18. (C) : Temperature on Wednesday

\ Quantity of water bottle Z = (376 – 20) mL = 356 mL
19. (A) : Let monthly salary be ` x.
11. (D) : Length of pair of scissors = (7.8 – 4) cm = 3.8 cm
According to question, we have
Length of nail = (4.8 – 2.2) cm = 2.6 cm
