Teaching accounting is very easy for those with some years of experience in accounting field but for
those new in the teaching profession, this subject will look very difficult because of large number of
problem which are fully practical just like the almighty mathematics.
So before going to teach, you should learn some methods of teaching accounting, so you won't come to
the classroom without adequate knowledge of what you want to teach which can cause low confidence
in the teacher, students making mockery of the teacher or in most cases the teacher is sacked by the
school management.

teach what the students can relate with. Don't teach too much theories, unless you want the students to
dislike the practical aspect.
After solving some practical question in the classroom, give the students some questions to try on their
own in the class. Watch them very closely so they don't copy from their peers in class. Also give them
some take home tasks so they can check what they learnt in the class. Those take home tasks should
also the reviewed the next time the students have accounting so they can do corrections in areas they
got wrong.

Don't try to mix it with other topics in accounting because it can cause confusion in the young brain of
your students. Your method of teaching accounting should be based on one specific topic at a time while

or via friend cycle so that if you have any problem on a topic you are to teach on accounting, you can
solve it with the help of your accounting teaching community or social network before going to the
classroom to teach the students.
