Opinion About Discrimination

Discrimination causes division in society and diminishes the validity of people's suffering. When people are treated as inferior based on attributes they cannot control, such as their race or last name, it initiates the belief that some must meet "rules and qualifications" to achieve things or be considered worthy. This mindset of superiority and inferiority is then passed down through generations. Ultimately, discrimination should be avoided as it creates despair and frustrates efforts to treat all people with equal respect regardless of inherited attributes.

Opinion about Discrimination

Discrimination. If I could summarize all the news I heard regarding this concern, it would
be despair. When I was a child, I noticed how people favor one over the other and how
one hurts the other who is not doing anything. For example, people prefer whites over
blacks, Tagalogs are deemed superior to Visayans, and one's last name can determine
the respect people show to you. One day, I wondered why. Where did such facts
originate? Can science or the law tell me why? I am curious because I only heard it from
people, beings bound to commit errors anytime. Hence, creating mindsets of superiority
and inferiority is one of the most sensitive and crucial errors. These brought on
discrimination, and discrimination pushed many people into despair.
In my perspective, discrimination creates division. Next, the division will diminish
the validity of some people's sufferings. Then, suffering will initiate people to think that
there are "rules and qualifications" to be someone or reach something. Now, we are
here in this world where mindsets are passed on to the next generations. These "rules"
are even trivial. The things we inherited make us who we are, and we should not be
ashamed of them. I am frustrated at how people sometimes think they have the
privilege and the right to call people names and treat them as inferior to us.
