III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activity

5. Motivating the students
• The class will be divided into five groups.
• Each group will be given a link to access a document to be used in
the activity.
• The document contains a list of ideas. Each group has to categorize
the ideas accordingly. Every correct answer corresponds to a point.
B. Discussion

• The teacher will present the topic on “Techniques in Selecting and


Organizing Information”

C. Application

Each group will be given a copy of an article. The members of each should
analyze the provided information and apply the most appropriate technique
to organize them. One representative from each group will be asked to
present the output.

D. Generalization

In summary, there are four techniques in selecting and organizing


information. These are brainstorming, graphic organizer, topic outline, and
sentence outline. Brainstorming is a technique that allows a group of
individuals share their ideas with one another. A graphic organizer is used
as a visual representation or frame to organize information. A topic outline
arranges ideas hierarchically in the sequence the writer wants, whereas in
a sentence outline, mini-thesis statements are written instead of topics.

IV. Evaluation

Read the given article and apply the most appropriate technique to select
and organize information. On a separate page, attach your output.

V. Assignment/ Project

Gallery Walk

Each group will have to select an article which has information that can be
best organized using the following techniques:
a. brainstorming
b. graphic organizer
c. topic outline
d. sentence outline

The output for each should be in a form of poster. During a synchronous


session through an online conferencing platform, the members of the group
should present and explain the chosen articles and the created posters.
