should be for exactly 3 pages only.
Marks will be given for (i) the choice of the journal article; (ii) the understanding of the journal as seen in
the paper; (iii) formatting of the report in accordance with the template given (font, size, formatting, merging
with journal article, saving as pdf, references in IEEE pattern), (iv) viva if I feel that you have not
understood or just copied.

1. Theory:
Write the theory behind the working of the instrument. (Do not write in your own words. State the
theorems/ laws correctly.)

2. Construction (with diagram) and materials used:

Describe the construction of the instrument in your own words. You can copy diagrams from
internet, but cite the source below the diagram. Also mention the materials usually used for the
construction of the instrument.

3. Working principle and equations:

Write the working principle of the instrument. Write the equations used for measurement and denote
what each symbol represents. Use the equation editor in the word/ latex/ mathtype for equation (do
not use pictures).

4. Calibration:

5. Instrument Characteristics:
Mention any specific/ special features of the instruments. Describe the accuracy, range, speed of
response, dynamic response, drift, robustness, stability and other features as applicable.

6. Advantages and Disadvantages:

In comparison to the other instruments used for the measurement of the same parameter, mention the
advantages and disadvantages.

7. Real life Applications:

8. Special features:
If there are any special features that this instrument has which is not mentioned anywhere else,
mention it here.

9. Current trend & research:

Download and read two papers relevant to this field/ area/ instrument and mention your comments in
this section. Then give the reference of the paper in IEEE format.
