Human beings continuously develop even after they are brought upon the world to explore by
their parents. Our development does not stop throughout the course of life. We continue to acquire
knowledge and skills right after being born through the guidance of our parents. When we are old enough
to become a part of the educational system, we become students to be taught by our teachers. In school,
we acquire new information and hone our knowledge, skills, and talents so that we would be able to learn
how to use them effectively both in academics and in real-life outside school. We can develop ourselves
in our abodes and schools, which we regard as our second home.
Teachers or instructors teach various facets of information and skills based on their country's
curriculums to cater to courses like science, mathematics, history, arts, philosophy, humanities, and more.
Because of this, they play a vital role in developing students' capabilities that will one day help them
achieve their goals and get jobs in the future. Teachers do not only work on their own. They cooperate
with other teachers or faculty members, students, and their families to make this happen. They also use
different means of teaching. It could be traditional or innovative, like conducting online classes or flexible
learning. They do this to reach all of the students and be able to teach them all fairly with the necessary
knowledge and skills they must learn.
In the Philippines, they are different kinds of teachers striving to share their knowledge and skills
with their students. Some teachers work in private institutions managed by non-government
professionals or owners. They make use of the provided resources within their schools. This kind of sector
usually has advanced educational materials teachers utilize to stimulate students’ interest and test their
knowledge and skills through practical exams and return demonstrations. Some teachers are part of the
public sector directly managed by the government. These teachers teach in a classroom setting within
barangays, towns, cities, or provinces. They also utilize the resources the government provides them, or
sometimes their educational materials come directly from their own pockets. Some of these teachers
educate children who live in far-flung areas that do not have an internet connection and are reached by
riding boats or hiking up mountains.
No matter which sectors they belong to, all of them share one goal in their job, to educate
students through sharing the same knowledge, skills, talents, and even life hacks that they got to learn at
school and in their lives when they were students as well. The way they become rational, creative, and
resourceful in teaching makes them heroes in different countries, especially in the Philippines. They are
one of the reasons for producing the future generation of nurses, doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers,
teachers, and other professionals and introducing them into society to help shape the world for the
betterment of all.
