The course provides students with an overview
of the current trends in information technology
that drives today’s business. The course will
provide understanding on data management
techniques that can help an organization to

At the end of the course, the students will

 Class Participation
• Lectures and class discussions

• The class will be divided in groups of 4 to 5. A designated “Project Sponsor” will be
assigned to each group.
• Each group will be asked create an analytics project based on a given data.
• The deliverables will be discussed and will be built upon as the course progresses.
Checkpoints may occur during the duration of the course to check the progress of
the deliverables.
• DRAFT – Teacher will critique
• Version 2.0 - Mock Presentation
• Version 3.0 – Presentation to the teacher
• Final Version – Presentation to external audience
• The goal of the group is to get approval for their analytics project and will be graded
on the uniqueness of their output.
• The deliverables will be submitted on the appointed time as indicated in the
Schoolbook.
• The final grade of the group will be determined by a point system.

Classroom Policies
 All session will be recorded, whenever possible, following data
privacy related protocols.
 Attendance will be checked at the start of the sessions. Hours
missed due to tardiness will be counted towards this maximum
number.
 Deadlines will be strictly enforced based on IRR. Deliverables
received after the designated deadlines will not be checked.
 Make-up activities may be given only to students who have
missed or are unable to complete or undertake a major class
requirement due to acceptable reasons.
 Students are expected to participate in all class activities,
particularly synchronous sessions.
 Any work submission that has been plagiarized will be
penalized based on the student’s handbook.
