Square Footing With Moment

The document provides the solution to designing a square footing to support a 400x400mm column with axial and moment loads. The solution involves calculating the bearing pressure, depth, area, reinforcement, and spacing. The footing dimensions are 4.4m x 2.6m with a depth of 605mm. The longitudinal reinforcement consists of 13 bars spaced at 200mm. The transverse reinforcement uses 19 bars spaced at 230mm.

Plate Title: Square Footing with Axial Loads and Moments

Problem:
Design a square footing, supporting 400 x 400 mm sq. column with 12 pcs of 20mm
main bars. The column footing is to resist loads from column, service dead load of 600
kN and service live load of 300 kN. Considering the earthquake load to resist with a
moment dead load of 120 kN-m and moment live load of 75 kN-m. The distance
between NGL and base of footing is 3 meters.

Soil investigation data results are listed below:

Soil Unit Weight = 18kN/m3
Allowable Soil Pressure = 300kPa

Use fc’ = 27.5 MPa and fy = 415 MPa. The concrete cover is 75mm from the centroid of
the nearest bar to the face of the footing. NSCP 2015 Specifications shall be used.
