Theoretical Framework

According to recent research, there are many successful cleaning products in the market. The
leading products are IRobot Roomba, Rrimin Smart Vacuum Cleaners, Intelligent Automatic
Sweeping Clean Robots, Exilient Ready Maid Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and many more. Every
product has its own pros and cons. Thus, this study was based on a project about cleaning and
mopping. According to the study from Arpitha Shankar, Rakshitha R., Raveena Ishalavath M, &
Sandhyashree N. (2020), who created Design and Development of an Automated Floor Cleaning
Robot for Domestic Application, where they had stated, “For saving the time the necessity was
of House Cleaning Robot, which is an automatic system that works and cleans on its own
without human control/intervention. Autonomous robot for floor cleaning application reduces
much time in lifestyle. It performs sweeping and mopping tasks at a time, it also does obstacle
detection, and also has automatic water spray.” The cleaning robot plays the important role in
houses, schools, and offices in able to perform its cleaning process and to work automatically to
save the time for people busy to their job. The robot uses a common and most important
components in cleaning robot which is the Arduino to control the process of what objectives of
the project wants to achieve and by the used of ultrasonic sensor the process will work
autonomously and also with the used of mini water pump it sprinkle the water with mix of
downy or any liquid solution.

On the other hand, a study from Adithya, P.S., Tejas, R., Sai Varun, V., & Prashanth, B.N.
(2018), the developers who written the article about the Design and Development of Automatic
Cleaning and Mopping Robot, where they had also stated: “The cleaning robot helps to clean and
mop the floor. This is done by simply pressing a switch and the robot does the work. This also
cuts down the labor used in factories for cleaning floor. Above being the case, motivated for the
design and development of an automatic cleaning and mopping robot that does all the cleaning
and mopping work with a simple press of a button.” The main use of this robot is to reduce
human interaction in the cleaning process which can be a time taking process. To be able to use a
robot understandable these robot can be activated with the press of a single switch button to
activate at a particular time.
Another basis related to the study by Milagrow a businessman from Indian who developed an
Aguabot 5.0 and he mentioned, “The water tank wets the front portion of the smart mop while
keeping the back portion completely dry. The front portion of the smart mop wets the floor to
remove stubborn dirt and debris while the back portion dries the floor to a spotless clean.” This
robot have features to help quickly dry the wet floor to avoid slide or slip down on the wet floor.
Moreover, another study to support the specific objectives by Jayant (2015), who created a
simple water level indicator alarm with buzzer and stated, “When tanks gets filled completely we
get beep sound from Buzzer.” Our project development is opposite to this statement which when
the tanks or container gets empty the buzzer will alarm to aware its user.
