The document discusses three types of loads according to IEEE 399 - 1997: constant impedance loads, constant current loads, and constant power loads. It provides examples of each type of load and the mathematical relationships between load power and applied voltage for each.

According to IEEE 399 – 1997 there are three types of loads i.e,

• Constant Impedance Load (Z).

• Constant Current Load (I).

• Constant Power Load (P).

Constant Impedance Load (Z):

• Load Impedance remain constant irrespective of applied voltage

• P = P0(V/V0)2

• Ex: Heater, Incandescent lamp, RLC Load etc

Constant Current Load (I):

• Load current remains constant irrespective of applied voltage

• P = P0(V/V0)

• Ex: UPS, Chargers etc

Constant Power Load (P):

• Load Power remains constant irrespective of applied voltage

• P = P0

• Ex: Induction Motor
