Stress in A Nutshell 2

Stress is the body's reaction to demands from various sources that prepares us to fight or flee, but can become harmful if too strong or prolonged. Stress blocks pathways in the brain needed for effective action, decision-making, and learning. As stress increases, it limits our access to brainpower from maximum availability down to panic and fight or flight responses. Leaders must create low-stress environments to enable people to use their brainpower innovatively and flexibly.
