REFLECTION PAPER:
Information, media and technology provide students with unpredictable power to enhance their
thinking, learning, communication, and collaboration and production skills.
We learned about the various topics in a variety of ways during this lessons. We communicate in
terms of technology in the digital era, and we use smartphones in our daily lives. The media is extremely
important in our society. Spreading information around the world will be much more difficult without
the assistance of the media. Through online interactions, the media assists us in bettering our society.
Media allows us to easily spread information around the world by simply uploading it to a social media
app or broadcasting it on a television network. We can help to improve our society by influencing others
to use media appropriately if we are media and information literate. When we receive information from
any medium, we should always remember to think twice before reacting. Think deeply before providing
feedback, and be practical in how we handle it. Being a media literate helps us learn how to determine
whether something is credible. Every individual can be influenced by media in both positive and
itnegative ways. It is up to us to control ourselves so that we are not taken away by our greed every time
we encounter different types of issues, especially if we are social media addicts. Literacy is essential for
both economic development and individual and community well-being. When students have higher
literacy levels, our economy benefits.
As a student and as a media and information literate , the benefits of learning media and
information literacy for us are numerous. It assists in becoming more informed media consumers as well
as responsible media producers. Learning media literacy helps us develop our critical thinking skills. By
understanding technology better, we can feel much more confident and comfortable in our role.
Through this, we will be able to work smarter and more efficiently.
To acquire information literacy, one must actively participate in accessing information in a timely
and effective manner. One must evaluate information in a timely and effective manner. One must
evaluate information critically and adequately. In order to resolve the issue/problem, information must
be used accurately. A wide variety of sources must also be used to manage the flow of information.
Finally, one must grasp an understanding of the legal/ethical issues surrounding the use of information.
To acquire media literacy, one must gain an understanding of how and why media messages are
constructed. One must also realize that people may interpret messages differently and that media has
the capacity to influence others’ behaviours and beliefs. Like that of acquiring information literacy, we
must have an understanding of the legal/ethical issues surrounding the use of media. It is also
important to comprehend and use appropriate media and creation tools. To acquire technology skills,
one must utilize computers, media players, GPS, PDAs, networking tools, and social networks to
integrate, manage, access, and create information to successfully function in a knowledge economy.
One should also grasp an understanding of the legal/ethical issues surrounding the use of information
technologies.
